Ram trucks have been a fan-favorite among truck enthusiasts for several years now. The powerful engine options and durable frames make it the ideal truck for many people. Recently, Ram announced that it was improving on its already popular truck and introduced the Ram 1500 Rebel 12.

The Rebel takes the same 1500 pickup truck that you know and love and adds a few upgraded features to create a more powerful and more convenient truck than ever before.

Many Ram fans, however, are wondering if the Rebel is really that much better than the regular Ram pickup truck. So, how exactly is the Rebel different from the regular Ram truck?

The Ram Rebel has a strikingly different look to it

When you first glance at the new Rebel, you can immediately tell that it is different from the regular Ram pickup. The Rebel replaced the traditional grill that Ram pickups have been using for over three decades.

It opted, instead, to go with a more aggressive-looking black grille that has the name “RAM” written across it. In addition to the new black grill, the Rebel has also added some other black accents to the exterior of the truck. The lower body panels, the wheel arches, the front and back bumpers, and the wheels are all black. There is even a black “RAM” logo on the tailgate.

This impressive truck also comes equipped with 17-inch wheels and also comes with a 1-inch air suspension lift kit that lets you know instantly that it can handle any off-road adventure that you throw its way.

The Rebel features a first-class interior

The Rebel is only available in a crew cab, which offers plenty of space for all of your passengers. The interior of the Rebel resembles a luxury vehicle more than it does a standard pickup truck. The leather-trimmed seats and the standard heated steering wheel help to add a little more comfort and style to the Rebel’s interior.

One of the most impressive features that the interior has to offer is the largest-in-class, 12-inch touchscreen display that sits proudly in the center of the dash. This extra-large display comes with the Uconnect system that features Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a navigation system. This display also features split-screen capabilities that help to make multitasking a little more efficient.

In order to listen to your favorite music with more clarity, the Rebel comes standard with a 19-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system and a 12-watt amplifier.

This truck comes equipped with the kind of power that you have come to expect from a Ram

The Rebel comes equipped with a 4×4 system and an electronic-locking rear differential to increase its off-road capabilities. The Rebel comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 mild-hybrid engine that is capable of delivering 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. If you are looking for a little more power, you can upgrade to the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that delivers 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque.

Are the Ram Rebel’s special features worth the higher price tag?

The base model for a 2019 Ram 1500 will cost you around $44,490. To upgrade to the Rebel will cost around $49,985. That is about a $5,000 difference.

Whether or not the Rebel is worth the higher price tag is completely up to you. When you consider the technological and power upgrades that you are getting, the extra $5,000 seems very reasonable. However, the regular Ram pickup truck still comes with plenty of power and the standard 8-inch touchscreen display is equipped with several special features that still allow you to stay connected to the world around you.

In the end, you can’t really go wrong. Ram is on a roll right now and there’s a good chance you’ll be happy with your decision, no matter which model you choose.
