The new Cadillac Escalade is one of the most popular luxury SUVs on the market. However, many buyers still choose the Escalade 2022 over the latest edition. Still, the newest Cadillac Escalade has one significant advantage over the previous model year. This change is primarily present in the 2023 Cadillac Escalade V, as it packs a much more powerful punch than comparable trims before.

Here’s how the Escalade 2022 evolved into the 2022 model.

The 2023 Escalade V is a true powerhouse

The performance of the new Cadillac SUV remains primarily unchanged from the Escalade 2022. According to Car and Driver, the base model of the full-size luxury SUV has a 6.2-liter V8 engine under its mighty hood. It has a maximum output of 420 horsepower and uses a ten-speed automatic transmission. The 2023 Cadillac Escalade can be configured as either rear or all-wheel drive.

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade V is where things really get interesting for the new model. This trim of the SUV also has a 6.2-liter V8, but it has a maximum output of 682 horsepower. This beastly SUV accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour at an astounding 4.3 seconds. For comparison, the comparable trim of the Escalade 2022 did the acceleration test in 5.9 seconds.

The interior is mostly the same

The cabin of the new Cadillac SUV remains primarily unchanged from the 2022 Escalade interior. However, regardless of the trim, the SUV still provides a thoroughly luxurious experience. On the lower end, the Escalade 2023 comes standard with faux leather. The vehicle’s interior also includes elements such as aluminum-covered speaker grilles and leather-covered door panels.

The standout of the new Cadillac Escalade is perhaps the digital dashboard. This technological feat is composed of three screens totaling about 38 inches. The three screens layer on top of each other. They include the information cluster as well as the CUE infotainment system.

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade got more expensive

The Cadillac Escalade price increased from the previous model year. The 2022 edition had a starting price of $77,795, but the Escalade 2023 starts at $79,295. This increase is a marginal difference, and many agree that the new version is worth it. However, unless you want the 2023 Cadillac Escalade V, not much is different.

The decision between buying the brand new SUV or the previous model isn’t unique to the Escalade. Both the 2022 Escalade and the newest one are top-rated vehicles in their class. It’s hard to go wrong with either, especially given their strong similarities. There’s a reason so many luxury SUV buyers go with the Escalade.
