While other automakers begin to bring their EV truck models to the market; Ford has plans to build another electric pickup truck. Autoblog.com quoted Ford CEO Jim Farley by saying:
“We’re already pushing dirt down in the Blue Oval City for another electric pickup truck that’s different than this one.” – Ford CEO Jim Farley
Whether this quote refers to an electric Ranger or Maverick or we’ll see the first Super Duty model powered by electricity is unknown.

Currently, the Ford electric truck is the top-rated by Kelley Blue Book experts. This model is followed by the Rivian R1T and GMC Hummer EV. Will the Ford F-150 Lightning retain its top position with the new Chevy electric truck on the road, or will it succumb to a new model? Could the new Tesla Cybertruck eventually take this top spot? The race is on, and the competition is growing in this new electrified pickup truck market.
Which electric truck will have the longest range?
The electric truck sitting on top of the pile currently offers the longest driving range. The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning 4WE Extended Range model has a driving range of 320 miles, which is the longest in the EV truck market. The new Chevy Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, Tesla Cybertruck, and Ram 1500 Revolution BEV should quickly surpass this number. Will this cause Ford to improve the driving range of the Lightning? Maybe.
Which EV truck has the most horsepower?
The GMC Hummer EV is currently the most powerful electric pickup truck in the market. This truck comes with three motors and up to 1,000 horsepower. The drivetrain of this massive truck can rocket this 9,000-pound monster to 60 mph in only three seconds. The Tesla Cybertruck has the Hummer EV squarely in its sights. This new Tesla truck is expected to cut the sprint time to 2.9 seconds.
