Cadillac has a wide variety of luxury SUVs. Of course, some are more popular than others, but the SRX is among the most beloved. Unlike other popular Cadillac SUVs, the automaker discontinued the SRX after the 2016 model. Not only is it a luxury SUV that can use regular unleaded gas, but it’s an option that delivers impressive performance and has a mature sporty look.

The Cadillac SRX is often a top choice for people in search of a used luxury SUV. However, the SRX has quite a few model years that have some annoying and expensive problems. Overall, most believe that the 2010 through 2015 model years are not worth the trouble. These model years perform just fine on the road, but they are not the most well-built out of the lineup.

One of the most widespread problems associated with this group of used Cadillac SRX models is with the headlights. Due to poor seals, water is reported to have flooded the headlights. Unfortunately, this damages the bulbs in the headlights. In addition, there are reports of poor low-beam headlight quality, which may or may not be related to the water.

These model years also experience problems with the infotainment system. Some people have experienced the screen going completely out, while others have seen them have delayed responses. Either way, this system controls many Cadillac SRX features, which means it’s necessary for the modern car driver.

The 2016 SRX was a good ending

The final Cadillac SRX is the 2016 model, and it’s actually considered one of the best from the lineup. It has a reliability rating of three out of five stars, which puts it in line with many of its rivals. In addition, J. D. Power gave the SUV an 82 out of 100 in the reliability category. This model Cadillac SRX is particularly well regarded for its handling.

According to Edmunds, the 2016 Cadillac SRX comes standard with a 308 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine. It’s front-wheel drive and uses a six-speed shiftable automatic transmission. The 2016 SRX also offers all-wheel drive trims. Regarding speed, the final SRX model year accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour between 6.2 and 6.7 seconds.

Despite being the automaker’s most popular ride for a while, the sales started to dwindle for the SRX. In many ways, the SUV wasn’t as innovative as its competitors. However, many people think that the multiple years of problems led to the luxury SUV’s demise.
