For many people, one of the most significant downsides to buying a new or used luxury SUV is that they often require premium fuel. Of course, premium gasoline is more expensive than regular unleaded gas. However, there are a few well-liked luxury SUVs that take regular gas. They still perform better with premium, but not using it won’t harm the vehicle. All vehicle owners should become aware what what gasoline is required.

Anyone looking for a new or used Luxury SUV that can take regular unleaded gas should consider the Volvo XC90. Not only is it on the less expensive end of luxury vehicles, but there are several models to choose from. This mid-size luxury vehicle has been on the market since 2002.

It should be noted that not every model of the Volvo XC90 is considered great. In particular, the 2007 Volvo XC90 is arguably the worst model year of the vehicle. The 2004 and 2018 models are also not highlights from the lineup. Still, overall the Volvo XC90 is one of the best SUVs that use regular gas.

The Buick Enclave is another excellent option for people on the market for a used luxury SUV that runs on regular unleaded gas instead of premium. The Enclave debuted for the 2008 model year. Since then, the vehicle has been one of Buick’s most popular nameplates. In addition, this is a three-row SUV, making it perfect for families.

Like with most cars, not every Buick Enclave is excellent regarding reliability. Unfortunately, people looking for luxury SUVs that use regular gas should overlook the 2008 model. However, it should be noted that the Enclave has a reputation for transmission problems. According to reports, the 2012 and later models are mostly all great.

The Cadillac SRX is a solid option for a used luxury SUV that uses regular gasoline. No longer in production today, the SRX entered the market for the 2004 model year and lasted until 2016. It’s often regarded for its high horsepower and quick acceleration time. This Cadillac is also a pretty big SUV.

According to CoPilot Search, the Cadillac SRX is an SUV that was better when it first hit the market. The later models aren’t bad, but they’re not as well-made as some previous model years. However, the 2010 Cadillac SRX is arguably the worst. Despite this, the Cadillac SUV can run fine on regular gas. Keep in mind any turbocharged models are recommended to use premium gasoline.

Generally speaking, more luxury SUVs use regular gas than most people think. Of course, not every option is viable, but there are some great ones. Remember, using regular gas when premium is required can cause adverse reactions in your vehicle, so it’s essential to be sure.
