The 2023 BMW X7 has many admirers as it comes from one of the top luxury automakers. However, the latest Cadillac Escalade surpasses it in three main ways. Not only is the Escalade more iconic as a full-size SUV, but it has better seating. In fact, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade is often considered the best full-size luxury SUV on the market. Of course, the Cadillac Escalade V is also an option with its improved suspension.

The 2023 Cadillac has better torque

According to Car and Driver, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine. It has a maximum output of 420 horsepower and a torque of 460 lb-ft. It’s a rear-wheel drive full-size luxury SUV with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Many buyers will opt for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade V. It should be noted that while the performance isn’t all that different from other trims, it has a larger supercharger and a better suspension system.

The BMW X7 comes with a standard inline six mild hybrid powertrain. It has a horsepower of 375 and a torque of 398 lb-ft. The higher torque in the 2023 Escalade means the power gets to the wheels much easier, allowing for a better and more efficient ride. All trims of the 2023 BMW X7 are slower than the Escalade.

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade also beats the new BMW X7 due to interior space. The Cadillac SUV seats up to eight people, whereas the 2023 X7 interior only has room for seven. Though not a huge difference, it’s a difference that will matter to many buyers. People who go after the best full-size SUVs often need all the space they can get.

Regarding technology, the Cadillac Escalade interior is the talk of the town. Its digital dashboard is made up of three connected OLED screens. These screens total 38 inches of digital real estate. This combined screen serves as the instrument cluster and the CUE infotainment system. The BMW X7 interior has a 14.9-inch touchscreen. Both offer impressive car sound systems.

Reliability

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade is also better than the BMW X7 because of its reliability ratings. The Escalade has an 83 out of 100 predicted reliability score from J.D.Power. Though not far off, the 2023 BMW X7 has a 79, representing average reliability. Both vehicles are expensive, so getting a reliable option is important.

The Cadillac Escalade price starts at $79,295, whereas the 2023 BMW X7 starts at $77,850. The Escalade price gets significantly higher for the Cadillac Escalade ESV and the V trims. Overall, both are great SUVs, but the Cadillac option has more of what people need.
