The Tesla Cybertruck is perhaps the most highly-anticipated vehicle of all time. When it was first announced, its revolutionary design and cutting-edge technology made it closely watched. Design delays and production setbacks have stalled the debut of the Cybertruck, and there’s one group that may be more eager than any other for the Tesla Cybertruck’s official release – large families. Here’s why the Tesla Cybertruck just may be the best electric pickup truck for big families.

The Tesla Cybertruck passenger capacity will be high

The Tesla Cybertruck is going to hold up to six passengers according to Car and Driver. That’s more than any other electric pickup truck currently on the market or in production. Other leaders in the EV truck domain like the Rivian R1T and the Ford F-150 Lightning, only seat up to five passengers. That means that anyone in the market for an electric truck with a little extra passenger space is likely going to be drawn to the Tesla Cybertruck.

In addition, the Cybertruck will be able to hold a considerable amount of cargo. It is coming with a 6.4-foot cargo bed that will be able to hold up to 100 cubic feet of cargo. In addition, you’ll be able to get your toys up into the bed of the Cybertruck easily, as it will have a fold-down tailgate that also works as a ramp.

The Cybertruck will have some family-friendly features

There are other Tesla Cybertruck features that will make it a family-friendly vehicle. Though, of course, it may also look like a truck for extra-terrestrial families instead of for your human one. Yet if your humans love the Cybertruck’s out-there design and its extra passenger capacity make this a great choice, then you might also love some of the Cybertruck’s other unique features, like its handle-less doors.

Elon Musk has said that the Tesla Cybertruck’s doors won’t have handles. Instead, the electric vehicle will know when you’re approaching and just open. This is fantastic for parents who are holding kids and bags, though its execution will have to be seen as there are myriad things that could go wrong with kids and automatic doors.

The Cybertruck’s technology is hush hush – for now

In this day and age, technology is often a huge selling point for families looking for a new vehicle. This is especially true if you’re the kind of family to hop in the car for weekends away or longer road trips. Yet Tesla is being kind of quiet about the Cybertruck’s technology. Still, as Tesla tends to be at the forefront of technology in general, there’s certainly hope that the Cybertruck will have some kid-friendly features.

The only thing that is known about the Tesla Cybertruck’s tech at this point is its touchscreen. Car and Driver reports that the Cybertruck will have a huge “17-inch touchscreen that is horizontally mounted in the center of the dashboard.”

The Tesla Cybertruck may not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when you’re shopping for something new for your family. Yet if it’s an electric truck that you’re after and you need the ability to be able to carry at least six passengers, then the Cybertruck may be the only electric truck that you’ll even be able to consider.
