Most 2023 Porsche Taycan models feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, with a motor at the front wheels and another at the rear wheels. For acceleration, the 0-60 mph time of the Taycan ranges from 5.1 seconds for Base trim to as low as 2.6 seconds for the Turbo S trim. Also, for the Turbo S, the Taycan can reach a top speed of 162 mph. On the efficiency front, the Taycan gets an estimated fuel economy of up to 79 MPGe.

When the Taycan was revealed, a concern was that the electric sports car would not have the trademark driving dynamics of iconic Porsche gas-powered cars such as the 911. However, those fears are put to rest by the Taycan’s responsive steering, refined ride, and unflappable composure.

One drawback of the Taycan, though, is its low driving range. Depending on the battery size and electric motors, the Taycan has a range of between 199 and 227 miles. Compared to EV rivals such as the Tesla Model S (up to 405 miles) and Lucid Air (up to 520 miles), this is a considerably lower driving range.

What’s new for the 2023 Taycan?

The 2023 Taycan is primarily a carryover model, and Porsche didn’t yet reveal any changes for the new model year. However, the Taycan might have enhancements for its technology features, such as the infotainment system and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Also, Porsche might make minor modifications to improve such things as the driving range.

What are the EV competitors of the Porsche Taycan?

The EV competitors of the Porsche Taycan include the Tesla Model S, Tesla Model 3, Lucid Air, Mercedes-Benz EQS, and Audi e-tron GT.

Also, for warranty coverage, the 2023 Taycan has the backing of a 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty and an 8-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

The Porsche Taycan already costs a lot of money, and with the price increase for the 2023 model year, the electric sports car is even more expensive. However, for those that can afford it, the Taycan offers an incredible driving experience.

As detailed earlier, the release date of the new 2023 Porsche Taycan electric sports car will likely be in Fall 2022, but the current wait time for customer deliveries is six to 18 months. Also, the starting base price of the 2023 Taycan is $86,700 MSRP, which is a slight cost increase over the 2022 Taycan.
