Believe it or not, large pickup trucks are not just popular among Americans. In places where you can’t get vehicles like the 2023 Ford F-150, these full-size trucks have quite a following. And now, Ford Australia has confirmed that the Blue Oval’s full-size pickup will be heading across the Pacific. That’s right; soon, you will be able to find the 2023 F-150 on Australian shores.

What is the number 1 selling truck in the world?

In terms of worldwide sales, the Ford F-Series truck has long been number one. While most of its sales take place in the U.S. and Canada, some F-150 models are sold on the global market. And for the 2023 Ford F-150, you can now add Australia to that list.

Now, getting this truck to the continent is not as easy as just putting it on a boat. For one, Australia is a right-hand-drive country. That means that they drive on the opposite drive side of the road than we do here in the States.

Additionally, there are things like emissions to be considered. But apparently, Ford Australia has that all figured out.

The 2023 F-150 will be one of the cheaper trucks in Australia

Now, getting a full-size truck in this market does not come cheap. The cost of the 2023 F-150 in Australia will be AUD 106,950 plus on-road costs. That converts to roughly $70k USD in terms of price. When you compare that to getting a new Ford F-150 here in the U.S., there is clearly a price increase.

At the same time, the Australian-spec F-150 will be cheaper than some of its counterparts, such as the Ram 1500 or Chevy Silverado 1500. So, it’s going to be interesting to see how sales actually perform.

Can you buy a Ford F-150 in Australia?

At some point in July 2023, the new Ford F-150 is expected to arrive in this country. According to Drive.com.au, four different versions will be available. The 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 will power each one. So, the lineup will not be as diverse as it is in North America.

The Lariat trim will be the top trim of the F-150 in this case. It can be had as a short wheelbase or a long wheelbase. The situation will be the same for the lower XLT trim. Although Australians will not have as much of a choice, it is not surprising to see that the configurations are being limited.

The F-150 goes on as a popular full-size truck

Whether it be in Australia or the United States, the Ford F-150 remains one of the hottest trucks on the market. The Blue Oval has invested significantly in this vehicle, and clearly, it has been paying off.

In fact, the F-150 is now available as an electric truck if that is something you are interested in. The Ford Lightning might be hard to find now, but in the future, it’s hard not to see it becoming a common sight on area roads.
