Kia currently has a wide range of SUVs. The Soul and Seltos are two of the smaller ones that are selling well. Choosing between them may be hard, but here’s what we were able to find out.

Why buy the 2024 Kia Seltos

The Kia Seltos has been refreshed for 2024. Kia put a lot of focus into the interior, making it more comfortable and roomy than previous models.

The 2024 model comes with a 146 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, along with all-wheel drive. The fuel mileage is excellent, with ratings of 27 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined.

There is a high utility roof that is perfect for loading gear, luggage, or anything else you can fit up there. A privacy glass and sound-absorbing windshield glass ensure that the outside world won’t bombard you as you travel.

Many of the features that most drivers will want are not standard, however. Some of these include wireless charging, Bose Premium Audio, driver-centric 10.25-inch dual panoramic displays, heated and ventilated front seats, and a smart power tailgate.

There are plenty of standard features on the LX trim, such as rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, auto emergency braking with cyclist detection, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, rear occupant alert, and driver attention warning.

The standard technology includes a 4.2-inch instrument display, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, a rearview monitor, several USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. There are even rear A/C vents to keep your passengers comfortable.

The size is slightly bigger than the Soul. The 2024 Seltos has a height of 63.4 in., a width of 70.9 in., and a length of 172.6 in. There is 7.3 inches of ground clearance. As for the cargo volume, you’ll get 26.6 cubic feet with the rear seats in place and 62.8 when you lay them down.

There are currently five trim levels, which are the LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX. The starting MSRP for the LX is $24,390, and this tops out at $29,900 for the SX.

The 2024 Kia Soul is no slouch either

The 2024 Kia Soul has a cheaper starting price and only four trims. These include the LX, S, GT-Line, and EX. The Soul MSRP ranges from $19,990 to $24,290

There isn’t much difference in the engine, as both have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The Soul gets 147 hp. It’s also front-wheel drive. The fuel economy ratings are 27 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 30 MPG combined.

When it comes to standard features, the Soul has everything the Seltos does. Intelligent speed limit assist standard on the Soul, but you’ll have to pay extra for it on the Seltos.

The Soul is smaller than the Seltos, although both can sit up to five passengers. Its height is 63.0 in., its width is 70.9 in., and its length is 165.2 in. There isn’t much ground clearance, as it’s only 6.7 inches. The cargo volume is 24.2 cubic feet with the rear seats in place and 62.1 cubic feet with the seats down.

Which is the superior Kia SUV?

While there are many cases when it’s easy to pick one vehicle over another, in this case, it’s not that simple. Both the Kia Soul and Kia Seltos are excellent SUVs, and it really boils down to your personal preferences and needs.

If you don’t need as much space, then the Soul is a solid pick. It has slightly better fuel mileage and a few extra features. Plus, it’s cheaper than the Seltos.

The Seltos offers more room, and while not a monster on the trails, it can handle some light off-roading. The AWD is a nice feature that is worth the increase in price.

No matter which Kia SUV you choose, you’re going to get a nice vehicle for a very affordable price that is worth your time.
