Are you interested in buying a three-row SUV? If you’re researching them, the 2022 Honda Pilot is a popular option. Moreover, the Pilot Touring model is one of the best available. However, you might have some questions about it before you buy it. For example, what comes with a 2022 Honda Pilot Touring? The Touring trim level comes well-equipped, but does it offer enough bang for your buck?

First, every version of the Honda Pilot uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood. It produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque and comes with standard front-wheel drive. However, all-wheel drive is optional for the entire lineup, except for the Elite and Black Edition models, which get standard AWD. Furthermore, the EX-L base model is shockingly well-equipped, with features like a power liftgate, remote engine start, driver’s seat memory, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and much more.

Since all the base model features carry over into higher trims, it’s essential to see everything included with Pilot models. In addition to many more features, the Pilot always has safety and driver aids—for example, adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, a lane-keeping system, and blind-spot monitor. Upgrading to the SE only adds exterior styling elements, 20-inch wheels, roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, and a wireless charging pad.

What does a Pilot Touring come with?

According to Edmunds, upgrading to the 2022 Honda Pilot Touring gains owners a ton of extras. Things like sound-reducing windows, ambient interior lighting, and a navigation system are nice things to have. However, other new features for this trim are top-notch and turn the Pilot into a genuine luxury three-row SUV.

Heated second-row seats, a rear entertainment system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a cabin intercom system, parking sensors, 10-speaker premium audio, and a 115-volt outlet. These features enter the lineup for $46,165, roughly $6,000 more than the Sport and $5,000 more than the EX-L base models. As a result, it’s a bit of a bargain in the Honda SUV lineup. Going higher than the Touring trim offers more features, but are they enough to warrant the higher price?

Are the 2022 Honda Pilot Elite and Black Edition worth it?

Next, upgrading to the Pilot Elite will cost you $51,665. A little over $5,000 more than the Touring, it’s the top-of-the-line model. Adding to the Touring features, it gains automatic wipers, auto-dimming and power-folding side mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and second-row captain’s chairs. In short, nothing that adds too much value is gained.

If you’re interested in a luxurious three-row SUV for an affordable price, we think it’s best to stop at the Touring model instead of the Elite. However, it’s even less cost-effective to jump to the Black Edition. As the most expensive Pilot, it’s not much different than the Elite. More specifically, it comes with everything included with a Pilot Elite but changes some exterior accents to black and adds red interior trim. All for nearly $2,000, starting at $53,165.

Standard 2022 Honda Pilot Touring features

In conclusion, the 2022 Honda Pilot Touring comes with everything most three-row SUV owners will need. As a luxurious, high-end model, it offers enough to feel worth the price. Upgrading to higher trim levels isn’t as cost-effective. The price rises a lot, but the number of amenities does not. Contrarily, trims below the Touring model are value-packed. However, they don’t quite hit the mark in terms of becoming a luxurious SUV.
