Toyota recently discontinued the Land Cruiser in America. Now, the Japanese automaker only produces one full-size SUV for the United States. The Toyota Sequoia is the most expensive Toyota SUV in the automaker’s lineup. What does the most expensive Toyota SUV have to offer for standard features?

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia comes standard with heated front seats, a panoramic view monitor, and Toyota Drive Mode Select. It also features a standard smart key system with push-button start, remote keyless entry, and a power tilt/slide moonroof with a sliding sunshade.

Toyota’s most expensive new SUV includes a blind-spot monitor, a tire pressure monitor system, and engine/body undercovers. It also comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense. Toyota Safety Sense is a suite of safety and driver assistance features that includes full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and road sign assist.

The 2023 Sequoia SR5 base model comes loaded with great standard features that are often only standard on upper trim level models. The question is, how much does the most expensive new Toyota SUV cost?

The Toyota Sequoia comes in five configurations. The 2023 Sequoia SR5 base model starts at $58,365. The Limited, Platinum, and Capstone start at $64,765, $70,965, and $75,365, respectively. The Sequoia TRD Pro final trim level starts at $76,065.

The Sequoia uses a 3.4-liter V6 engine and an electric motor to make 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. It gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

Car and Driver recommends the Limited trim because it comes standard with features like heated and ventilated front seats, a power-folding third row of seats, and a huge 14.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (because who doesn’t like huge screens).

Is the Toyota Sequoia a good SUV?

The Toyota Sequoia is the last Toyota SUV that represents an era of off-roading excellence. It’s a rugged SUV that can outlast rivals. The full-size SUV should be able to last for over 250,000 miles or over 17 years of ownership. It exemplifies the phrase, “they just don’t make ’em like they used to anymore.”

Toyota’s most expensive SUV may seem pricey, but it’s actually a steal for consumers interested in a long-term ownership period. The Sequoia has been completely redesigned. One of the most exciting features of the new redesign is its standard hybrid powertrain. The Toyota Sequoia isn’t fuel-efficient, but it guzzles less gas than previous model years.

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia is the best version of the full-size SUV in recent years by leaps and bounds. Toyota has successfully reinvigorated the nameplate as it did with its cousin, the Toyota Tundra.

The Sequoia isn’t the best full-size SUV in its segment. Rankings by publications like Kelley Blue Book favor the 2023 Ford Expedition MAX, 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe, and GMC Yukon over the Sequoia. That being said, few rivals are as powerful or as capable off-road as the Sequoia.
