We Want the 2022 Ford Evos Instead of the Mustang Mach-E

Have you seen the new 2022 Ford Evos? It’s one attractive SUV. It looks similar to the 2021 Mustang Mach-E but with a different attitude. It looks like a model that people could go for over the Mach-E, and we hope Ford releases it in the United States. 

What we know about the 2022 Ford Evos 

First of all, just to clarify, we aren’t hating on the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. We’re just a little jealous that we don’t have the Ford Evos in America yet. According to Fox News, the Evos made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show on Monday.

It has a lot in common with the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which will be available there later this year. The most noticeable difference can be spotted in the front. The Evos has a very Ford-like grille with an LED headlight bar that runs across the top. 

The Mach-E tried to incorporate an electric Mustang vibe, but people are split on its look. To some, the grille makes the Mach-E look like it’s upset. It’s wearing an extreme frown, but why is it angry? Maybe it’s just ready to race, which it can do. 

Ford Evos features 

Not much information has been released about the 2022 Ford Evos yet. However, it looks to be about the same size as the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Both of these SUVs have similar sharp angles and a futuristic look. 

According to Car and Driver, it could be the upcoming replacement for the Ford Fusion Sedan. It could take the form of the Active Fusion wagon. The powertrain options for the Evos haven’t been released yet. It might not be a battery-electric vehicle like the Mach-E.

But its interior layout, including the center console, matches the Mach-E design. The Evos will also feature Ford’s Level 2 self-driving feature called BlueCruise. This technology that uses laser-scanned 3D maps recently came out for the Ford F-150 and Mach-E. 

The Evos gets a new Ford Virtual Personal Assistant that uses a human-machine interface to customize interior conditions. With the VPA, you can enable a co-driver mode that displays navigation, traffic signs, and road conditions on one side. The other side displays entertainment for the passenger. 

The Mustang Mach-E has a 15.5-inch vertical display and a smaller instrument panel, but the Evos has 43-inches of screens with a horizontal layout. Also, the audio can be adjusted to personal tastes. 

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is still epic 

Even though we want the 2022 Ford Evos to come to America, we’re still happy that we have the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. According to Edmunds, even though it’s a wagon-like electric SUV, it still delivers a classic Mustang performance.

It’s fast, sporty, and agile. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.2 seconds and has responsive handling with a composed and stable ride. The standard model has 266 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, and the extended range model with AWD has 346 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. It has a smooth ride and absorbs bumps well with a quiet interior that features comfortable memory foam seats. 

Unlike the Tesla Model Y, the Mach-E features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other notable features include 360-degree cameras, a spacious backseat, tons of cargo space, and an optional 10-speaker Banf & Olufsen sound system. The MSRP for the Mach-E begins at around $42,895.
