The 2020 Honda Civic is attracting attention like the Civic has pretty much every year that it has been in production. As one of Honda’s staple vehicles, the Civic is one of the best-known cars driving around today and has won countless awards and accolades over the years. This year, one of those awards is the Kelley Blue Book “Best Buy” award.

The Honda Civic is a KBB Best Buy

Every year, Kelley Blue Book honors certain vehicles with their “Best Buy” award. This is a respected award that is now in its sixth year and is based on many factors such as the test drive, interior room and comfort, materials quality, amenities, technology, affordability, resale value, and pricing. This year, the 2020 Honda Civic once again takes home the award in the small car category as it has for the past five consecutive years.

There are a few reasons Kelley Blue Book chose the Civic over its competitors in the compact car market –  the Kia Forte, the Volkswagen Jetta sedan, the VW Golf, the Mazda3, and the Toyota Corolla. They love the Civic’s resale value and “rock-solid” reliability.

Kelley Blue Book also noted that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety dubbed it a Top Safety Pick. According to Honda, the Civic holds its resale value better than any other car in its class.

The 2020 Honda Civic has many features that make it a KBB Best Buy. Part of its resale value is based on the Civic’s enduring good looks. The sedan has a long wheelbase and sleek profile that give it a sporty appearance, and it has sharp, sophisticated lines.

The 174-hp engine in the EX trim and above was designed to give drivers a thrilling performance both on the highway and in the city. Each available engine has a CVT transmission custom-designed for it for optimal performance.

The Honda Civic has the modern connectivity everyone expects from today’s vehicles, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A standard multi-angle rearview camera gives you normal, top-down, and wide-angle views. Connected audio lets you listen to all your playlists, music, and podcasts as well as get the latest news and weather.

Other technology offered in the 2020 Civic includes available remote start and available lane watch, which gives you live video of your blind spot on your touchscreen to make changing lanes easier.

Those looking for a higher-end Civic model can find it in the 2020 Touring model. The Touring trim adds quite a few standard features such as a satellite-linked navigation system with voice recognition, a 450-watt premium sound system with 10 speakers and a subwoofer, rain-sensing windshield wipers, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for the continuously variable transmission, and sport pedals.

The Honda Civic’s driver-assist features

The 2020 Honda Civic is an IIHS Top Safety Pick and has a 5-star safety rating from the National Institute of Traffic and Highway Safety. Honda calls their suite of driver-assist features Honda Sensing, and it helps keep drivers aware of their surroundings and takes action in case of emergency.

These features are standard on every Civic model and include a collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, and lane-keeping assist. Other safety features standard in the Honda Civic are anti-lock brakes, stability control, and a suite of advanced airbags.

There is a multitude of reasons Kelley Blue Book chose the 2020 Honda Civic as a “Best Buy.” This year’s Civic is already proving to be just as popular and reliable as its predecessors.
