The Lexus ES embodies lavishness and style. But obviously, this luxury sedan doesn’t come cheap. However, it’s worth shopping for a used  Lexus ES  to save money on extravagance. As you do your research, you’ll see that the 2017 Lexus ES is an attractive choice.

Relaxing in the 2017 Lexus ES

The ES is best described as a pampering ride, not a sporty one. When it was new, reviewers hailed the 2017 model for its refined comfort and quiet nature. The 2017 ES features a 268-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine linked to a six-speed automatic transmission. Overall, this luxury sedan offers satisfying power and smoothness.

Along with its polished driving dynamics, the 2017 ES also stands out for its fuel economy. The 2017 ES has a fuel economy rating of 24 mpg, which is good for its class. This model is also available as a hybrid. The hybridized version has a fuel economy rating of a combined 40 mpg.

Many critics were impressed with the ES, including U.S. News. The organization ranked the ES as the best midsize luxury car for 2017. As a new model, U.S. News also named it the best 2017 luxury midsize car for the money. Furthermore, reviewers at this organization consider the 2017 ES as one of the best luxury midsize cars you can buy for around $25K.

On the inside, the ES pleases with a modern interior complete with traditional finishings. This sedan can seat up to five, and there’s plenty of head- and legroom. The standard ES 350 model has realistic leatherette seats; upgraded models will have genuine leather.

The 2017 ES also offers some of the latest tech features. Standard infotainment gadgets include an 8-inch display screen, Bluetooth, voice recognition, satellite radio, and Siri Eyes Free. The main drawback here is that Lexus’ computer-like infotainment system can be tricky to use

The ES has a mousepad function to operate the controls, which might take you some time to get used to. Unfortunately, Lexus didn’t make Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard features on the ES until 2020. However, Apple CarPlay is available on the 2019 version.

Superior reliability ratings

The 2017 ES has excellent ratings across the board. It earned a perfect crash-test safety rating from the NHTSA. Additionally, the IIHS named this model as a Top Safety Pick+, its highest honor.

What also makes the 2017 ES a worthy choice is its excellent reliability ratings. U.S. News gave this Lexus a perfect rating for predicted dependability. Consumer Reports did too. Based on its extensive research, CR named the 2017 ES as one of the most reliable used cars you can buy.

You should know that there is one NHTSA recall on the ES. This recall relates to a potential concern with its tie rod assembly. Before you buy, make sure that the dealer addressed this. Overall, there aren’t many significant complaints associated with the 2017 ES. According to CR, 79 percent of vehicle owners would repurchase this vehicle.
