Acadia
The GMC Acadia is a midsize SUV model produced by the General Motor Company (GMC), a subsidiary of General Motors. The Acadia is priced and sized between the GMC Terrain compact SUV and the GMC Yukon full-size SUV.
The first GMC Acadia model went on sale in 2006 for the 2007 model year. Within General Motors’ automotive brands, the GMC Acadia first shared its platform with the Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick Enclave. Additionally, it was offered as a mid-priced model between the two similar GM models. The Traverse was marketed as a more affordable SUV, and the Enclave was marketed as a more luxurious SUV.
Currently in its second generation, with a handful of mid-generation facelifts and updates, the GMC Acadia is positioned as a rival to the Dodge Durango, the Ford Explorer, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the Honda Pilot.
