Renting a pickup truck could be the best choice, especially if you only need it for a few projects a year. Owning or leasing trucks can be expensive. That is why several companies allow you to rent a pickup truck and charge you by the hour or daily. Lowes is one of the stores you can find a truck when a standard car won’t do the job.

First, you must understand that not all Lowes stores offer truck rentals. You will need to call your nearest location to confirm they offer truck rental services. The stores also operate on a first-come, first-served basis. They will not hold a truck until you get there. The only option is to visit the store to rent one. Lastly, you must bring your driver’s license, proof of insurance, and credit card to rent a truck.

Lowes’s starting price is $19 for 90 minutes, and for every 15 minutes, you pay five dollars. Their services enable you to haul your purchases from one place to another and return the truck immediately to avoid additional costs. They also have a 24-hour rental option for $119 and a flat rate fee of $89 per day, where you will need to return the truck before the end of business hours.

Per-day rates are a great option if you don’t want to rush to complete tasks or have many things to move. You can move furniture, supplies, and tools with their rental pickup truck. Lowes has a fixed 24-hour price, and their fixed daily rate gives you the freedom to make as many trips as you want.

According to moving.com, their mileage is unlimited, but you need to account for the cost of gas since you will need to return the truck with three-quarters of a full tank. You can haul anything from furniture to mulch piles and anything in between. They also offer safety features and roadside assistance, so you don’t have to panic if something happens on the road.

What truck brand does Lowes use?

Lowes has a fleet of Chevrolet Silverado 1500s available to their customers in select stores. The Lowes Chevy Silverado 1500 rental truck has a standard cab that seats three people and an eight-foot bed that can transport up to a ton. They offer standard safety features and roadside assistance when you need them.

Because of the truck’s large hauling capacity, it is ideal for most of your moving needs or taking your purchases home right from the store. All of this is done at an affordable rate.

Lowes is not the only player in town

If Lowes isn’t the right choice for you, then maybe Home Depot is worth a try. Like Lowes, the trucks are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You cannot reserve the truck ahead of time, but you can check if they are available on their website before going to your local Home Depot store.

Home Depot uses Penske trucks to help you with your move. The trucks are available in four sizes, ranging from 12 to 26 feet. And the Penske truck rental wizard will help you figure out what size truck is best for you. Their services are available in other locations, so you don’t have to return the truck to the store you got it from like Lowes requires.

According to My Move, a Home Depot rental pickup truck will cost you $19 for 75 minutes, which is 15 minutes less than Lowes’s rate. But they also offer $129 per day or $903 per week. All require a $15 deposit.

Your location, the size of truck you need, and which store you choose to use will determine the cost of renting a pickup truck. Lowes and Home Depot charge by the minute and have unlimited mileage, which is good if you are moving and need to make several trips to carry all your household items. Their pickup trucks have a huge capacity, and you are not restricted on how you intend to use the truck. You can carry dirt for your garden, mulch, furniture, appliances, and anything else you need help moving.
