Marvel’s incoming “The Fantastic Four,” set to release in July 2025, will officially star Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic. While reading up on his car collection, which has some expected sportscar mentions like the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz SL550, one caught my eye. Pedro Pascal also owns a 1952 Porsche 356. Let’s look at why the 356 is so much more interesting than, say, the sort-of-cliche G-Wagon in the Marvel star’s lineup.

1952 Porsche 356 specs and history

The 356 is special in general because it was Porsche’s first production car. Its inaugural year model was 1948. They were hand-built in Austria until 1950 when production moved to Germany. 1952 356s are included in the first generation, named “Pre A,” and are noted for being very much pre-Porsche 911. The first gen spanned 1948-1955.

Three engine options were available in 1952, none exceeding 60 hp. While we don’t know if Pedro’s 356 is a cabriolet convertible or a coupe, Pre A models tend to bring in more than later versions. shows five-year Pre A sales data averaging $263,880. The highest sale recorded was a 1954 1500 S Speedster via RM Sotheby’s. It went for $687,000 in 2021.

There aren’t many 1952s available on the market these days. says the average sale price of this particular year is $314,555.
