Lexus and Marvel are teaming up once again after collaborating on Black Panther. This time Lexus is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the upcoming blockbuster, The Eternals. In the film, a group of immortal, cosmic heroes bands together to save Earth from an ancient threat. Adding to the list of our favorite movie cars, Lexus has themed 10 of its vehicles after the larger-than-life characters audiences will see when The Eternals hits theaters on November 5th, 2021.
Each vehicle has a custom wrap designed in a collaborative effort between Marvel Studios, The Eternals, and Lexus.
“We’re excited to bring the ‘Eternals’ partnership to life through these custom-wrapped Lexus vehicles,” said Vinay Shahani, Lexus vice president of marketing. “Just as each Eternals character has a distinct style and set of capabilities, so does each character-themed Lexus.”
Marvel Studios is just as happy to be working with the luxury automaker again after their partnership on Black Panther.
“After so successfully telling a co-branded story on the original Black Panther film, we’re thrilled to be teaming up with Lexus once again,” said Mindy Hamilton, SVP, Global Partnership Marketing at Marvel Studios.
This is not the first collaboration between Lexus and The Eternals
Before the debut of the new themed Lexus vehicles, the automaker worked with Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo on a short film starring Kumail Nanjiani’s Eternals character “Kingo.”
In the film dubbed “Parking Spot,” Kingo scours the city in his Lexus IS 500 F SPORT Performance trying to find a place to park all while his fellow heroes are occupied in an epic battle. The film features the trademark mix of humor and action that audiences expect from the MCU while including plenty of beauty shots of the Lexus IS 500 F SPORT.
