The numbers are in and they could be shocking. The most reliable truck for 2024 isn’t the Ford F-150 or Toyota Tundra. Instead, the Ram 1500 reigns supreme. Check out how reliable the 2024 Ram 1500 really is.

Is the 2024 Ram 1500 the most reliable truck?

Yes, the 2024 Ram 1500 is the most reliable truck. It outranks every other full-size option like the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra. Plus, it currently outranks midsize trucks like the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier too.

According to J.D.Power, the 2024 Ram truck has the highest predicted reliability rating. It earned an 87 out of 100, which is honestly one of the highest scores we’ve seen any vehicle get in years.

Scores between 70 and 80 are average and scores between 81 and 90 are above average. Anything between 91 and 100 is best, but we haven’t seen any vehicles crack into this range.

The 2023 Ford F-150 has a reliability rating of 86 out of 100 so it’s only two points behind. But if you aren’t first, you’re last. The 2024 Toyota Tundra got a 78. The 2024 F-150 hasn’t been rated yet as it’s sporting a new mid-cycle refresh that needs to be put to the test.

J.D.Power provides each vehicle with a reliability score based on hundreds of thousands of independent and unbiased opinions of verified vehicle owners.

Surveys are sent out allowing owners to report any issues that they’ve faced from issues with the paint, electronics, interior quality, transmission, engine, and more. Everything is covered.

So based on the surveys, people have been experiencing fewer issues with the Ram 1500 than other options. Ram has been working to improve its reputation for durability. In 2021 it only had a score of 80, so it has improved by eight points.

The average Ram truck is expected to make it between 250,000 and 300,000 miles. A few examples have surpassed 300,000 miles, but regular care and proper maintenance are the keys to success.

If you drive an average of 15,000 miles per year then your Ram truck could provide about 20 years of service on the road. Perhaps it’s time to reconsider the Ram 1500 as a long-lasting, hard-working truck.
