You would probably think that “Friends” star Lisa Kudrow and Grammy Award-winning rapper Ludacris don’t have very much in common. Well, they do have one, admittedly unexpected car in common. It’s the Acura Legend, and both celebrities have their experience with the Japanese luxury sedan.

‘Friends’ star Lisa Kudrow and rapper Ludacris have a car in common: the Acura Legend

It’s not the sort of car you’d expect a pair of celebrities to buy. However, the Acura Legend represents an earlier time in the careers of Lisa Kudrow and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. For Lisa Kudrow, the Legend was one of her first purchases following the pilot of “Friends.”

In an interview with lifelong car enthusiast and long-time television host Jay Leno, the cast of Friends covered their first purchases after the show “got picked up.” Courtney Cox chose a staple among the Hollywood elite. Specifically, the “Scream” franchise star bought a 993-generation Porsche 911. Moreover, Kudrow’s co-star, Jennifer Aniston, bought a W113 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL. However, Kudrow light-heartedly followed her colleagues’ choices with “I got an Acura Legend.”

Even though Kudrow was joking about her comparably sensible purchase, she’s not in poor company. Rapper Ludacris also bought an Acura Legend in the 1990s. However, Ludacris has a slightly different relationship with his Japanese ride. Instead of off-loading the Legend for a pricier ride, Bridges kept his sensible sedan.

Ludacris still owns his Acura Legend, a rarity among celebrities with sky-high net worths. You would think Bridges would drive his Legend until he has a pile of money, and move up to opulent Porsches and eye-popping Ferraris. However, Ludacris chose to keep his Legend as a reminder of his roots. Today, his Legend has well over 220,000 miles on the clock.

Sentimentality aside, an Acura Legend is a smart way for high-profile celebs like Ludacris and Lisa Kudrow to move about without getting mobbed.
