In the final two seasons of the show’s 10-season run, the cast of “Friends” famously made up to $1 million per episode. However, it wasn’t always that way. In fact, there was a time when Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow were so excited with their first paychecks from the show that they spent big bucks on luxury cars. However, Matt LeBlanc spent his dough on something much more practical.

In what was perhaps the most famous ensemble cast television series ever, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer captured global attention in “Friends.” As such, each of the characters in the show was chuffed to receive their first paychecks for their efforts on the set. In fact, a few of the hit TV show’s actors spent their money on Porsches, Mercedes-Benz, and Acura luxury cars.

Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green in the series, treated herself to a charmingly classic Mercedes-Benz. In an interview with famed talk show host Jay Leno, Aniston revealed that she purchased a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL with her first paycheck from the job. For those out of the know, the 280SL is a W113 model, the same that Former Secretary of State Colin Powell once drove. Unfortunately, Aniston says her 280SL “was a lemon.”

Next, Courtney Cox picked up a 993-generation Porsche 911. According to her interview with Leno, she bought the iconic Porsche sports car before the show got “picked up.” What’s more, Cox says she had the effortlessly gorgeous 993 911 for seven years.

Lisa Kudrow, Phoebe on the show, injected a bit of levity into her first paycheck car story. Kudrow, adopting a light and humorous tone, said, “I got an Acura Legend.” Not that we can fault her for that. Hell, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges still has his Acura Legend.

However, Matt LeBlanc, the cast member you’d expect to go all out with his first paycheck, had a different story. See, LeBlanc went on to host Top Gear for a short time, a high honor for petrolheads. However, when prompted by Leno, LeBlanc jokingly responded “I was so broke. And the first thing I bought was dinner.” Joey doesn’t share food.
