The new Lamborghini Countach has ignited the internet with old-school Lamborghini love once again. A few photos have leaked of the new design, and reviews have been favorable. Reviews are always mixed when an automaker takes a stab reimagining a cult favorite, but new Lamborghini Countach images seem to have a majority of fans excited.

How much does a Lamborghini Countach cost?

The Lamborghini Countach isn’t exactly easy to find these days. Only around 2,000 Countach supercars were ever produced between 1974 and 1990. It was bound to be a classic from the start, but the supercar really did a number on fans. The wedge-shaped Lamborghini resembled a wedge of fine Italian cheese.

These days, early 1980s Countachs are selling for around $500,000 on sites like Bring a Trailer. There is no telling what a new version will sell for. Similar vehicles like the 2021 Lamborghini Sián go for well over $2 million. Examples of other Lamborghini vehicles vary from $200,000 to $500,000.

The leaked (and official) Lamborghini Countach images

Lamborghini started teasing fans that the Countach was making a comeback. So far, only a few unofficial images have leaked photos of the complete car as shared by MotorTrend. Lamborghini shared some official pictures on Instagram earlier this week, one of which is above. It shows the front end of the new Countach, and it certainly is still paying homage to the wedge shape. A narrow black grille indicates the classic Countach name with a modern update.

The second image shows the new Lamborghini Countach engine, a ridiculous V12 under the clear hexagonal engine window. The Ordine di Accensione plate is visible with some numbers that point to the new LPI 800-4 powertrain. Rumors suggest that this is a hybrid. The windows lend to a more Lamborghini Aventador look, but fans haven’t seen the whole car yet. The third and final photo shows more classic Countach styling. Lamborghini will reveal more about the car on the 50th anniversary this weekend.

While pop-up headlights are not really legal anymore, the front end is likely the most exciting part. If these leaked Lamborghini Countach images are legitimate, the front end resembles a Lamborghini Gallardo.

The rumor mill is churning out high quality information

Lamborghini has been busy teasing fans this week but plans to reveal more this weekend. The chassis of the new Lamborghini Countach is apparently from the Aventador. The Lamborghini Sián offers a V12 with 807 hp, so perhaps the engine will come from there. Thus far, it looks like the new Countach is indeed lending to the traditions that have worked for the brand.

“Great creations are born from great traditions. Traditions that are filled with inspirational stories, discoveries, breakthroughs, twists and turns, passing down a unique heritage. Traditions that have embraced change and innovation. Our latest creation was born from this tradition. Stay tuned to discover the new Lamborghini Countach. “

From what everyone can see, the Lamborghini Countach will be one of the most popular new supercars on the market. Not that the Countach will hit the market, Lamborghini will likely release to a select group of buyers and VIPs. The new Lamborghini Countach will capture the attention of fans everywhere either way.
