The 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 is a small electric SUV that’s part of Volkswagen’s commitment to electric vehicles. The VW ID.4 is a bit smaller than the Volkswagen Tiguan, and could rival Kia’s new EV9 and Hyundai’s new Ioniq 7. The 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 is going to be better than the 2021 ID.4. What will the 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 price be, and what will you get for your money?

How much will the 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 cost?

There isn’t an official price on the 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 yet, but according to Edmunds, it’s likely going to start at around $41,190. That price gets you a rear-wheel drive electric SUV with 250-260 miles, depending on which trim level you select.

The 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 comes standard with a ten-inch touchscreen, though you can upgrade to a 12-inch touchscreen. It also has important safety features like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane departure warning.

The 2022 VW ID.4 price will be a little higher than the 2021 ID.4

Edmunds doesn’t expect many changes to the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 for 2022. Still, the 2022 VW ID.4 price should be slightly higher than the 2021 ID.4. What does this mean for ID.4 trim levels? There may be three, like there are in the 2021 VW ID.4. These include the ID.4 Pro, the Pro S, and the First Edition. These prices range from $39,995 to $50,969. The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 Pro comes with keyless entry, 19-inch wheels, and power adjustable and heated front seats. The Pro S adds a power liftgate and a 12-inch touchscreen, as well as simulated leather upholstery. The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 has pedals which say “Pause” and “Play.” There are white accents and a tow hitch that can tow up to 2,200 pounds.

What does VW ID stand for?

Volkswagen says that the ID in ID.4 stands for “intelligent design, identity, and visionary technologies.” All of Volkswagen’s electric vehicles going forward will have an ID name. Like many other car manufacturers, Volkswagen is committed to expanding their electric vehicle platform. It’s building six electric vehicle plants in Europe, building more Electrify America charging stations in the U.S., and producing one million electric vehicles per year by 2023.

The Volkswagen ID.4 is new, with the first VW ID.4 model debuting in 2021. That SUV had a single electric motor that could make 201 hp and 228 lb-ft of torque. It also has an 82 kWh battery pack. Volkswagen is likely adding an all-wheel-drive option to the 2022 Volkswagen ID.4, which people have been clamoring for. That will increase the VW ID.4 engine output to 302 hp. VW ID.4 AWD range should increase to 300 miles on a single charge.

So when can you buy the 2022 VW ID.4? Right now there’s no word on when you’ll be able to buy the 2022 Volkswagen ID.4. Current estimates have the 2022 VW ID.4 to be in the fall of 2021, yet as we get later into the year, it seems that this may not happen. Still, the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 is available, and it’s markedly similar to the 2022 VW ID.4. If you just can’t wait for whatever updates Volksagen has in store for the 2022 VW ID.4, it may be worth looking at the 2021 ID.4.
