How much does the 2023 Kia EV9 cost?

You can get started with the 2023 Kia EV9 for $50,000, which is a pretty penny. The 2022 Kia Telluride starts at $33,090. So the three-row SUVs have about a $19,910 price difference, making it feel very expensive to go electric.

These prices are the MSRPs, meaning they do not include destination fees or dealership markups. We should learn the EV9’s destination fee soon.

Also, the EV9 isn’t the only new option on the way. It’s only one of the 14 battery-electric vehicles that Kia plans to launch for global markets by 2027. Kia will launch two new electric vehicles a year to reach this goal, starting in 2023.

It’s currently unclear which vehicle will be launched with the Kia EV9 for the 2023 model year. The 2022 Kia EV6 has already arrived and we’re hoping for the electric Kia truck!

How much range does the Kia EV9 have?

Reportedly, the 2023 Kia EV9 will have 300 miles of electric range. This information was shared by Kia America Chief Operating Officer Steven Carter. He’s also the one who let information about the electric SUV’s price slip.

The EV9 is pretty close to the 2022 Rivian R1S, which has an electric range of about 316 miles. Also, the Rivian R1S starts at about $72,500. So, now the R1S has serious competition.

Kia hasn’t released how much horsepower and torque the E9 has. Depending on the battery pack you choose, the Rivian R1S provides between 600 to 835 hp and up to 900 lb-ft of torque. The R1S can tow up to 7,700 lbs and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.0 seconds.

The Kia EV9 is expected to be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.0 seconds. This is a bit sportier than the Kia Telluride, which reaches 60 mph in about 7.1 seconds.

Also, the EV will ride on the Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform that’s already being used by the Kia EV6. It’s possible that all-wheel drive could come standard, but it might only be available with higher trim levels.

How fast does the 2023 EV9 charge?

According to Motor 1, the 2023 Kia EV9 can replenish about 80 percent of its charge in about 30 minutes. This is with the use of a DC fast charger. Kia hasn’t released any other official charging times.

A lot of information about the EV9 is still a mystery. In fact, we’ve only seen the concept model so far. The production model is expected to be 90 percent similar. So, it should look pretty close. However, wild features like the clamshell doors might not make it to production.

The interior looks incredibly comfortable and luxurious but a little bland. It might be spiced up with two-tone upholstery colors. It currently features an oval-shaped steering wheel and one massive infotianment screen without physical controls.

More information about the Kia EV9 should come out any day now as 2023 approaches. We will keep you updated with official specs and more.
