Are you looking for an SUV with three rows of seats to fit at least seven passengers? Well, then you might not need to look past the Dodge Durango. Let’s see how it compares to competitors like the Kia Sorento and Nissan Pathfinder.

How Does The Dodge Durango Compare?

First of all, it seems like it has a very family-friendly price by starting around $30k. You can save a little with the Kia Sorento that starts around $24k or go up to $31k for the Nissan Pathfinder.

Second of all, the Dodge Durango let us down its fuel economy. It only gets up to 19 mpg in the city and up to 26 mpg on the highway. That puts the Durango slightly behind its competitors, but not by much.

Dodge Durango Power

We are pretty impressed with the Dodge Durango’s power and it comes with three different engine options.

The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 option with an output of 295 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque. It’s most powerful option is a 5.7-liter V8 engine that pumps out 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.

Depending on which option you go with, the Dodge Durango can tow between 6,200 to 8,700 lb. That’s insane! That puts the Durango up there with higher-end trucks.

It also blows the competition out of the water. The Kia Sorento can only tow 5,000 lb, and the Nissan Pathfinder can only tow 6,000 lb.

However, it’s power doesn’t make it faster. The Dodge Durango goes from 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds.

We hoped the Dodge Durango would be available in four-wheel drive, but it only has all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive options available.

AWD and rear-wheel drive still give the Dodge Durango the ability to navigate through mud, snow, and other slippery conditions.

Dodge Durango Features

Now that we know the Dodge Durango is dominant on the outside let’s see what it’s like on the inside.

It has up to 84.5 cubic feet of cargo space, giving it more than enough room for your family and everyone’s things. This is more space than the Kia Sorento, and Nissan Pathfinder has to offer.

The third row of seats has a 60/40 split to help you easily fit all of your cargo inside, and the second row of seats fold down too. Plus, everyone gets to enjoy a massive leather seat for more comfort along the way.

In the second row, your passengers can access climate control, a 115-volt plug, and two USB ports to stay comfortable and connected.

Plus, the advanced Uconnect system can connect to SiriusXM, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, allowing you to jam the way you want.

Most importantly, the Dodge Durango is a safe vehicle for you and our family. It has a steel frame for superior protection as well as ready alert braking to prevent collisions and blind-spot detection.

While you tow your boat or take your family on a trip, you can trust in the Dodge Durango to safely get you to your destination with advanced features for comfort and entertainment.
