Going to gas station pumps to fill up is no one’s favorite part of owning a car. This is the case even though cheap gas prices are easier to find. Additionally, many fear getting contaminated gas and then having car problems. Sadly, this has happened again in Florida as another gas station has been found with water in the fuel. This is at least the second case in the state in recent weeks.

Gas station pumps are usually safe, but there are instances of contamination

Many people don’t think twice when going to gas station pumps. After all, you have to fill up, and the most significant concern people usually have is finding cheap gas prices. However, according to WCTV, yet another Florida gas station has been found to have water in the fuel. This time, the report says that someone tipped off the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services that there may be water in the gas at the GATE gas station on S. Blair Stone Rd in Tallahassee, Florida. They received the tip on December 19th.

Of course, this prompted an investigation, and after looking into the station’s gas pumps, they determined that the tip was correct. Because of this, the agency issued a stop-sale order for the GATE gas station until they could change out the fuel and clean the pumps. However, reporters from WCTV say they observed people buying gas from the station on the morning of December 22nd.

So, it seems the stop-sale order has been lifted, and the station had its gas pumps adequately cleaned. However, the GATE gas station is still facing a fine. Of course, any vehicle owners who suffered as a result of the issue can also file claims with the company that owns the gas station. Hopefully, they were able to detect the problem before too many drivers were impacted.
