For the ninth model year in a row, the Nissan Murano returns to market with no major updates. However, the range-topping trim with no additional options retails for almost $50,000. Whether that’s a fair price for an aging two-row midsize SUV is debatable. But is a fully loaded 2024 Nissan Murano worth nearly $60,000?

Nissan starts the top-tier 2024 Murano Platinum trim at $45,930. Its standard powertrain includes a 260-hp V6 engine, a continuously variable automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive.

The roomy two-row SUV has semi-aniline leather-wrapped seats. This leather also adorns the interior door panels, the top of the gauge cluster, and the outside of the gear shifter panel. The panel also has rich wood and shiny metal accents.

The front and rear outboard seats have heat settings, but only the front seats have ventilation settings. Other Platinum features are a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, push-button start, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The infotainment interface, which has standard smartphone integration, is operated through an 8.0-inch touchscreen. Users can also configure navigation and settings for the Bose audio system through this screen.

The 2024 Nissan Murano Platinum has several advanced driver’s aids. They include forward collision warning with rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control. Also, it’s the only model with a 360-degree parking monitor and traffic sign recognition. Additionally, it has sonar parking sensors and monitors that track driver attention and blind spots. Front and rear automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping intervention complete the comprehensive safety package.

All of the above are included in the Platinum’s $45,930 starting price. Swapping FWD with all-wheel drive costs an extra $3,035. In addition, the Scarlet Ember Tintcoat and Boulder Gray Pearl exterior colors require a slight upcharge. This 2024 Murano also offers three wheel options, the most expensive of which are clad in satin-black aluminum alloy for $1,730.

Nissan also offers accessories such as splash guards, a chrome rear bumper protector, and rear underbody trim. The optional tow hitch receiver kit, priced at $408, comes with a ball mount and hitch cap. An exterior lighting system for $630 provides better visibility while entering or exiting the vehicle at night.

Interior accent lighting is also available, along with illuminated kickplates and several cargo management options. For extra theft protection, buyers might want to add Virtual Key services or the drive recording system. They can also add USB-PD ports, carpeted floor mats, wheel locks, and an emergency kit straight from Nissan.

With all available upgrades, a fully loaded 2024 Nissan Murano Platinum costs $55,721.

Is a fully loaded 2024 Nissan Murano Platinum worth the price?

A fully loaded Nissan Murano is pricey for an SUV that hasn’t gotten a significant update in nearly a decade. However, that will likely change soon, so the latest Platinum trim might look more like the Infiniti QX50.

Even if you chose a lower-specced 2024 Murano trim, like the Sport, you could enjoy a sumptuous interior and a Bose sound system. This trim carries a starting price of $48,500. Still, the Murano’s luxury cousin retains more of its value.

The 2023 Nissan Murano SV trim is an excellent value. Though the interior upgrades on the SL and Platinum are appealing, many aren’t necessary. This year’s base model includes most of the available safety features and synthetic leather seats. Nissan starts the 2024 Nissan Murano SV at only $37,920.

Will the 2025 model see a much-needed redesign?

We still don’t have much information about the next-gen Murano besides its new shape seen in spy shots and renderings. However, we expect it will also have a revamped interior and possibly a new standard or optional powertrain.
