One of the principal reasons consumers remove electric vehicles (EV) from their new car shopping lists is the time it takes for the cars to charge. However, the battery and charging technology is getting better year after year, and recharge times are falling. Still, you can choose one of these eight fastest charging EVs of 2022, like the Tesla Model 3, and get back on the road sooner.

  • Tesla Model Y
  • Lucid Air
  • Mercedes-Benz EQS
  • Audi e-tron GT
  • Tesla Model S
  • Tesla Model 3
  • Porsche Taycan

The Tesla Model Y is one of the fastest charging EVs of 2022

Tesla’s Model Y is the company’s more accessible crossover, considering the excessiveness of the Model X. The Model Y is fast charging, too. One of these EV crossovers will cover 162 miles with just 15 minutes of charging time. That’s quite an improvement compared to the EVs of yesteryear.

Lucid’s Air is vying to dethrone the Tesla Model S

Tesla may have met its match with Lucid Motors. The Air is the company’s new flagship sedan and it has the Model S in its sights. Also, Lucid says the Air will cover 300 miles after just 20 minutes of charging. That makes the Lucid Air one of the fastest charging EVs of 2022.

Mercedes-Benz is ready to take on the EV segment with its EQS

Mercedes-Benz recently shocked the automotive industry with a 1,000 km trip on a single charge. It only makes sense, then, that their EQS EV would be phenomenal. The Mercedes-Benz EQS will charge from 10 percent up to 80 percent in just 31 minutes. Also, that trip can be a long one, given the estimated 350 miles that the EQS can cover.

The Audi e-tron GT is one of the fastest charging EVs of 2022.

Audi’s savagely quick four-door EV looks dramatic sitting still. However, once you take off, you’ll note that the e-tron GT in any trim will get you to sixty in less than four seconds. Moreover, the Audi e-tron GT’s 270-kilowatt charging system can gain 180 miles of range in 22 minutes.

Tesla’s flagship sedan is the gold standard

The Tesla Model S is an accomplished EV. The latest versions, like the Plaid, are not only comfortable but some of the quickest cars on the planet. In addition to elegant simplicity and speed, the Model S can gain 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes. That swift recharging capability makes the Model S one of the fastest charging EVs of 2022.

The Tesla Model 3 is upsetting the market

Tesla’s Model 3 is safe, efficient, and, considering other EVs, affordable. However, the good news doesn’t stop there. According to U.S. News, the Model 3 will store 175 miles worth of range with just 15 minutes of charging time.

The Porsche Taycan is one of the fastest charging EVs of 2022

Electric car shoppers can now buy a child of Zuffenhausen instead of a Tesla. The Porsche Taycan is styled to look 911-esque and has charging speeds to match its power. Porsche says the Taycan can recharge from 5% to 80% in just under 23 minutes.
