Are you interested in buying a brand new 2023 GMC Acadia? There are plenty of reasons to buy this midsize three-row SUV. For example, it has an excellent ride quality, a quick optional V6 engine, and an intuitive cabin layout. However, the lineup has four trims to choose from, some of which are far more expensive than others. Fortunately, there’s a clear winner, as experts only recommend one 2023 GMC Acadia trim, the SLT model.

What are the 2023 GMC Acadia trims?

According to Car and Driver, there are four trim levels in the 2023 GMC Acadia lineup. The midsize three-row SUV is available for four prices ranging from $38,195 to $49,995. Moreover, the four are called SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The AT4 trim is aimed toward off-roading, adding some rugged features to lower models. Additionally, the Denali is tempting as it’s by far the most luxurious of the four options. However, most experts believe it is too expensive for the value provided.

Although the 2023 GMC Acadia lineup has a few viable options, most experts only recommend one trim. The SLT model is the best version of the midsize SUV for a few reasons. First, the price is on-par with many of the class leaders in quality and standard features. Higher trims get a little too costly for our liking, despite adding some luxurious features.

Car and Driver recommend the SLT trim because of the long list of extras it adds on top of the base model’s features. Further, the publication says it would also upgrade the Acadia with the optional V6 engine and all-wheel drive. Together, the combination adds another $2,495 to the price. It’s worth noting that AWD and a V6 are standard for the AT4, while the Denali gets the V6.

Additionally, Edmunds says the SLT trim is the best version to get. Particularly, the expert says to choose it for the power-adjustable seats, upscale interior, and upgraded stereo system, among other niceties.

There are a few good reasons experts only recommend one 2023 GMC Acadia trim. The SLT model provides owners with the most bang for their buck in the lineup. Primarily, the value comes through technology upgrades and comfort features not found in the lower trim.

The SLE base model is more barebones. It has tri-zone automatic climate control, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and five USB ports. Moreover, the GMC Pro Safety Plus suite of driver aids is also standard with automatic emergency braking, front/rear parking sensors, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and a blind-spot monitor.

In addition to the base features, the SLT trim gets much more. For example, remote start, heated front seats, a hands-free tailgate, navigation, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, and leather upholstery. Features like these make the cabin of the Acadia a much more luxurious location. Additionally, we agree with other experts that the SLT model provides most of the essential features many drivers prefer.

The only Acadia trim worth buying

In conclusion, experts only recommend one 2023 GMC Acadia trim. The SLT model is the second-cheapest selection in the lineup. With it, the automaker provides owners with all the best features, from leather upholstery to an upgraded audio system. Many are drawn to the off-road AT4 model or the luxurious Denali, but the extra features aren’t worth the price. Especially when customers can upgrade the SLT trim with all-wheel drive and a V6 engine for cheaper.
