A capable relative doesn’t guarantee greatness, but the LX 600 shares many of the traits that made the Land Cruiser so great.
The Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the longest-kept SUVs for a reason. In fact, the SUV tops the list of longest-kept SUVs because its design made the Land Cruiser one of the longest-lasting SUV models ever made. They don’t make vehicles like they used to anymore, but the new LX 600 is surely reminiscent of its accomplished ancestor.
The new LX 600 has taken inspiration from the Land Cruiser, and Lexus has already boasted about its off-roading capabilities. It is being marketed as a luxury large SUV that also performs well off the beaten path. Sound familiar?

The Expedition has been one of the Land Cruiser’s main rivals over the years, and this competition could carry over to the LX 600.
The high starting price gets you a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter engine that makes 409 horsepower. The LX 600 also comes standard with a dual-display configuration touchscreen digital instrument panel. The upper screen is 12.3 inches, and the lower screen is 7 inches. It features a predictably luxurious cabin and amazing handling.
