Still, someone within automotive companies would have figured out that the English names of some cars don’t work. With that in mind, here are eight crazy car names that were actually used.

1. Isuzu Mysterious Utility Wizard

It’s pretty common for some vehicles to have names in America that are different from their home countries. The Isuzu Mysterious Utility Wizard is a 4WD SUV from the 1990s. In America, it was the Isuzu Rodeo. In other countries, this strange name, shortened to MU Wizard. didn’t make things any better.

We don’t find many cars named for green vegetables, and this might be the only one. Not only was the Minica Lettuce one of the crazy car names you’ve probably never heard of, but this car also brought automotive asymmetry to the market. This car preceded the Hyundai Veloster with two passenger doors and one driver’s side door.

3. Daihatsu Naked

This strange name was attached to a small kei car that wasn’t interesting except for the name. Maybe Daihatsu used this name because the car looks like something is missing from its shell. The Naked name was a full line of kei cars with the Naked Turbo, Naked Summary, Naked Ger, and Naked Memorial Edition II.

4. Mazda Laputa

The trouble with this name is the meaning that comes to mind whenever a Spanish-speaking person sees it. This small car had a terrible name and wasn’t much to look at. This kei car was produced from 1998 to 2009, and it is a bit strange that a car with a terrible name lasted so long.

This small Peugeot van wears a name that reminds you of verbal diarrhea. There are too many words and nothing that makes this small minivan feel like it needs this many words. This van has one of those crazy car names you never heard of and wouldn’t unless you’re in its home area.

How desperate can a car get to be named Friend-ME. This car screamed loneliness that showed up as a concept car at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2013. Considering the time, this car was asking you to accept its friend request on Facebook, where its buddy, the Ford Probe, could poke you time and time again.

That’s what? This might be exactly what you think when you see this small kei car. It looks like a narrow box that we typically see on Japanese roads. This Honda seems just as incomplete as its name, but That’s all you get.

The Detroit Fish is one of the crazy car names on the list. It looks like it should bring the pitcher to the baseball mound from center field, not for driving on the road. Still, this car existed, making us wonder. What is a Detroit Fish? Why use the name for a car?
