In terms of truck ownership, making sure that your vehicle’s tires are healthy is an important part of the process. Whether it be all-terrain tires or just all-season tires, like anything, you will want to have the proper tools for the job. That way, you get the performance and utility you expect from your pickup. So, what exactly are the best truck tires for 2022?

Best all-terrain and off-road tires

If you are someone who off-roads or overlands your pickup, you need tires that are up to the task. Simple all-season or road tires will not be enough to get you to where you need to go. According to Forbes, the best all-terrain tire is currently the General Grabber A/TX.

This tire uses ultra-high-strength steel belts and other technology in order to ensure that it can handle rugged terrains. While the Grabber A/TX may not be as comfortable on paved roads, they are not too loud for daily use.

In terms of the best dedicated off-road tire, it’s no surprise that the Wrangler Duratrac came in first. Wrangler has been Goodyear’s popular off-road tire for some time. The tread is ideal for handling things like mud. But, because of the increase in grip, these tires may wear quicker if you are driving them on pavement frequently.

Best all-season and highway tires

For general use, all-terrain tires make for a good option. Generally, they are designed to handle most situations, including driving on wet or dry roads. The Cooper Evolution H/T All-Season tire seems to perform well during daily driving. If you are not planning to off-road your pickup or drive through things like deep mud, they should function just fine.

Highway truck tires are designed for those who drive on the highway often. They should last for a while, have low road noise, and offer superior driving comfort. The Firestone Destination LE3 has been created with high-speed, long-distance travel in mind. And most consumers seem satisfied with this truck tire.

Best snow tire for trucks

If you live in a region with heavy snowfall or ice during the winter months, there’s really no avoiding the need for a good winter tire. Especially if your truck is rear-wheel drive. Forbes has recommended the Bridgestone Blizzark DM-V2 tire for this purpose.

Today’s snow tires are also designed to better handle cold weather, even below freezing. And that helps to keep your truck safe during the winter months. In order to get the most life out of your winter tires, you will want to swap them out once the seasons change.

When should you change your truck tires?

Generally speaking, you should adhere to the manufacturer’s recommendation on when to change your tires. But, if you have noticed uneven wear, a tire leak, or another problem, getting your truck tires checked out might be a good idea.

Of course, truck tires are not cheap. Especially when compared to things like a sedan, so it might feel easy to forego replacing your tires. But, due to safety issues and even efficiency, putting off tire replacement should be avoided.
