The first advantage of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline over the 2023 Ford Maverick is its more powerful standard engine. All Ridgeline models feature a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which doles out 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.

In comparison, the base-level engine for the Maverick is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid, which manages only 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. While the Maverick offers an optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates a higher torque output than the Ridgeline (277 lb-ft), it has a considerably lower horsepower output (250 hp).

The second advantage of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline over the 2023 Ford Maverick is its higher towing capacity. The Ridgeline can tow up to 5,000 pounds, compared to 4,000 pounds for the fully gas-powered Maverick and 2,000 pounds for the Maverick Hybrid. With a 5,000-pound towing capacity, the Ridgeline can tow a variety of things. This includes a utility trailer, a small travel trailer, a pop-up camper, ATVs, snowmobiles, a fishing boat, and jet skis.

Along with its greater towing capabilities, the Ridgeline has a marginally higher maximum payload capacity than the Maverick for hauling items in the pickup bed (1,583 vs. 1,564 pounds).

Honda Ridgeline has a roomier interior than the Ford Maverick

The third advantage of the 2023 Ridgeline over the 2023 Maverick is its roomier interior. Both pickup trucks can seat up to five people, but the Ridgeline offers more space for passengers. It provides a total passenger volume of 110 cu-ft, while the Maverick has 100.3 cu-ft.

The extra space for the Ridgeline makes the biggest difference for the rear-seat passengers. It has 36.7 inches of rear legroom, compared to 35.9 inches for the Maverick.

Unlike the 2023 Maverick, the 2023 Ridgeline has a complimentary maintenance plan

The fourth advantage of the 2023 Ridgeline over the 2023 Maverick is, unlike the Maverick, the Ridgeline offers a complimentary maintenance plan. All new 2023 Ridgeline models have the new Honda Service Pass free maintenance plan, which is good for two years or 24,000 miles.

Honda Service Pass covers factory-scheduled maintenance for the Ridgeline, including multi-point inspections, tire rotations, and oil and filter changes. In addition to the peace of mind of ensuring that the Ridgeline is well-maintained, Honda Service Pass helps lower the cost of vehicle ownership.

The 2023 Honda Ridgeline has advantages over the 2023 Ford Maverick for its more powerful standard engine, a higher towing capacity, a roomier interior, and a complimentary maintenance plan. These are factors to consider when deciding which pickup truck to get.
