American vehicle manufacturers have shifted from making sedans and are currently focusing on making SUVs for most of the driving public. Vehicle owners prefer SUVs due to their increased space and improved comfort compared to other vehicles. One of these reputable automakers is the Honda Motor Company, which is the maker of the Honda CR-V.

The CR-V is powered by a powerful turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that generates 190 hp and is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). So what are the best qualities of the Honda CR-V? MotorTrend has highlighted three of the CR-V’s best qualities and some of its worst.

BEST – Driving the Honda CR-V is a fun experience

On the open road, the Honda CR-V has shown remarkable performance and proven very efficient. Driving the CR-V is a fun experience, as it can generate 179 lb-ft of torque, making it excel even in climbing lanes. Apart from storing 14 gallons of fuel in one go, the CR-V has an excellent fuel economy rating of 28 city/34 highway mpg, making it ideal for use over long distances. Additionally, the CR-V’s broad 104.8-inch wheelbase also contributes to its enhanced ride quality.

BEST – Adequate space is helpful in the CR-V

Having plenty of space is another attribute that makes the CR-V one of the best SUVs on the market. It has a cargo capacity of 39.2 cu ft, which can be extended to 75.8 cu ft when the rear seats are lowered, and the model can accommodate up to five passengers.

Taller passengers won’t feel confined in this compact SUV; its front and rear headroom measure 40.1 inches and 39.2 inches, respectively. Additionally, the front and rear legroom measure 41.3 inches and 40.4 inches. This spacious SUV can, therefore, comfortably accommodate a modern family with ease.

BEST – The CR-V has innovative interior details

Besides being spacious, the Honda CR-V’s futuristic interior adds to its efficiency. One of the features included in its interior is a set of heated front seats, which offer better comfort for its users. It also has a lockable glove compartment that can be used to store essential items and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The steering wheel and shift knob are wrapped in leather. It also has a 60/40 split rear seatback that’s easy to fold down, along with a multipurpose center console storage with a sliding armrest.

WORST – The Honda CR-V has a tiny infotainment screen

Infotainment systems have been introduced to vehicles over the past decade to assist drivers and improve ride quality. According to MotorTrend, the Honda CR-V has a couple of shortcomings, even though it has some great qualities. Firstly, its infotainment screen is too tiny and responds slowly. This may sometimes inconvenience the driver, especially when they are in a hurry and need to use the screen quickly.

WORST – The CR-V’s rear styling is unusual

In contrast to its quality interior, this CR-V has unusual rear styling, which may sway potential buyers. Many people wouldn’t notice it at first, but the CR-V’s rear styling will seem off when viewed up close. A good rear design goes a long way in ensuring that a vehicle is streamlined and more resistant to air drag. Hence, the CR-V’s rear is one of its poor qualities.

WORST – Driving noise is present in the CR-V’s cabin

A quiet vehicle is better than one with a noisy cabin, as it is more peaceful and contributes to better ride quality. Drivers can also concentrate better in a car with a quiet cabin, ensuring safety while driving. However, the CR-V’s cabin is noisy compared to other high-quality SUV competitors.
