The 2024 Toyota Tacoma rollout has been pretty exciting. New information, photos, and teasers keep coming despite the full reveal of the truck happening weeks ago. One of these new bits of teased information is a new color for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. Despite the color being teased in a photo of the Tacoma, Toyota says the new color is coming to other 4×4 models as well.

Are there new Toyota truck colors for 2024?

2024 Toyota Tacoma new color: Terra

There is always a signature color for the range-topping TRD Pro trim. The new one for the 2024 TRD Pro model lineup is “Terra,” this burnt orange color presented in the Tacoma teaser image. This new color isn’t just for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, though. Toyota announced that Terra will cover all TRD Pro models (4Runner, Sequoia, and Tundra). In past years Lime Rush, Lunar Rock, and Solar Octane were the colors of honor.

What does the TRD Pro trim mean?

It makes good sense to give the TRD Pro trim its own signature color. TRD Pro denotes the highest trim package available for 4×4 Toyotas. According to Autoblog, for the 2024 Tacoma, the TRD Pro trim will only come with the hybrid powertrain option. It will get new shocks from Fox, disc brakes all around, a swaybar disconnect feature, and a lifted suspension.

You’ll know the TRD Pro models from their wider front and rear ARB bumpers, wide fender flares, and protruding recovery hooks. In order to increase the approach angle, TRD Pro models also get 33-inch Goodyear Territory R/T tires.

All new for the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro, the front bucket seats come with their own sophisticated suspension. These suspended bucket seats have ball joints and vertical and lateral air-over-oil shock absorbers. The idea here is to keep the spines in the front two seats from disconnecting from their brains while crushing the rough stuff. Toyota 4×4 models have a tendency to ride a bit stiff. These seats could ease our pain a little.

What about the other Toyota models?

While Toyota has said the new color is coming to the big boys as well, photos haven’t been released yet. Given the new hotness of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, Toyota has decided to keep all eyes on it for now. Photos of other TRD Pro models are said to be coming soon.

Any time we get an update to Toyota 4x4s is a good day. The brand has built its reputation and even identity on being predictable and reliable. This steadfastness is what has earned Toyota unrivaled loyalty from its customer base.

Since the new Tundra and Tacoma have debuted, there are certainly some Toyota faithfuls who have been shaken by the newness of things. Hybrids? Seats with shocks? New colors? This isn’t very comforting for some. However, Toyota has been long overdue for these updates. As long as Toyota continues its nearly infallible systems that result in tough, reliable trucks, that newness shouldn’t be a problem.
