We know that trucking value matters! That’s why we’re comparing the standard Nissan Frontier to the brand-new Ford Ranger. Let’s see how prices compare with the 2024 Ford Ranger and 2024 Nissan Frontier and which option has more bells and whistles.

2024 Nissan Frontier vs. 2024 Ford Ranger: Which truck has more value?

The 2024 Nissan Frontier off-roading
2024 Nissan Frontier | Nissan

You can get started with the 2024 Nissan Frontier for $29,230. The $1,335 destination fee brings the starting price up to $30,565. The top-spec Frontier SL trim starts at $40,975 with the destination fee included.

The 2024 Ford Ranger has a $32,670 MSRP. The 1,595 destination fee brings the starting price up to $34,265. The top-spec Raptor trim starts at $57,065 with the destination fee included.

So the entry-level Frontier is $3,700 cheaper and the Frontier SL is $14,090 cheaper than the Ranger Raptor. But to be fair, the Frontier SL isn’t on the same level as the Raptor Ranger for off-roading and desert racing.

The Frontier has a standard 3.8-liter V6 engine with 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. This is the only engine option, so you can’t upgrade for more power.

With the engine, the Frontier can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds, tow u to 6,400 lbs, and carry a payload of up to 1,667 lbs.

The Ranger has a standard 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the 2.7-liter V6 engine for 315 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The Raptor has 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque.

With the Ranger, you can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds. It can tow up to 7,500 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,805 lbs.

The Frontier starts with the basics like 16-inch steel wheels, an 8.0-inch infotainment system, cloth upholstery, a four-speaker sound system, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.

But the Ranger starts with 17-inch aluminum wheels, cloth bucket seats, an 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10.0-inch infotainment screen, keyless entry, remote tailgate lock, power exterior mirrors, a six-speaker audio system, automatic LED high beams, forward collision warning, emergency automatic braking, and lane keeping assistance.

So, the Frontier has more standard HP and covers the basics. But the Ranger has more torque and creature comforts. Go with the Frontier to save, but more value comes with the Ranger.
