Lincoln is doing well with its 2022 model year by updating every SUV in the lineup. There are plenty of significant improvements coming from minor changes that could be important to you. The three-row Aviator SUV was a finalist for the 2020 SUV of the Year, and the Navigator and Corsair are better than ever for 2022. Here are the 2022 Lincoln SUV lineup changes.

2022 Lincoln Aviator changes

Firstly, as far as paint options go, a few of the selections from 2021 are no longer available. Iced Mocha, Ocean Drive Blue, and Red Carpet have been discontinued for the 2022 model year. With any subtractions, there must be an addition, right? Newly available on the 2022 Lincoln Aviator are the following colors; Bronze Smoke Metallic, Flight Blue Metallic (exclusively available on the Grand Touring Aviator), and Gilded Green Metallic. These new paint colors are unique and will change the look of the Aviator to be a little more vibrant.

Most importantly, a brand new Premium package is now available with the Lincoln Aviator that adds a few different things. 20-inch wheels and a panoramic roof highlight the package and add style to the SUV. A Monochromatic package is also available on the Aviator Reserve in Asher Gray, Infinite Black, and Pristine White, which will add 22-inch wheels and exterior body-color details. The remaining upgrades are part of packages that existed in 2021, instead of newly added ones.

Each option from the 2021 Convenience package is now a standalone upgrade, so it can be added to any Aviator version. The Illumination package now includes LED foglights, excluded from the 2021 model year. Finally, the Grand Touring and Aviator Reserve now have wireless charging as standard, and the phone-as-key capability is now part of the Reserve I and Grand Touring I packages.

2022 Lincoln Nautilus changes

Not too much has changed for the Nautilus, rumored to be discontinued sooner than later.  For the 2022 model year, Bronze Smoke Metallic, Gilded Green Metallic, and Chroma Caviar (Black Label exclusive) newly enter as available colors. Consequently, Artisan Blue, Green Gem, Iced Mocha, Red Carpet, and Chrome Elite Copper are no longer available for the Lincoln Nautilus.

The Premium package, available on the base Nautilus and coming standard on the Reserve and Black Label, includes a power tilt/telescoping steering column, garage door opener, built-in navigation, and 18-inch wheels. Upgrade the Reserve model to include the Luxury package featuring phone-as-key capabilities, a 13-speaker Revel premium audio system, and a hands-free power liftgate.

What’s new with the 2022 Lincoln Corsair?

A new Luxury package enters the fray. It includes a heads-up display and a 13-speaker Revel audio system. You’ll need either the Reserve or Grand-Touring Corsair to be able to upgrade it with the Luxury package. The Elements and Technology packages from 2021 are now the Elements Technology package. The package now combines both into a single package.

As far as color updates, Artisan Blue, Burgundy Velvet, and Iced Mocha are discontinued, and Bronze Smoke Metallic, Elite Blue Metallic, and Ocean Drive Blue Metallic will replace them.

Big changes for a big ride, what’s new with the 2022 Lincoln Navigator?

The most significant changes for the entire Lincoln SUV lineup come with the brand new Navigator. Attempting to compete with other vehicles in its class, the Navigator was due for a few decent upgrades that would put it back near the top. Since large SUVs like the Infiniti QX80 announced massive upgrades, Lincoln knew it had to do something to keep the Navigator fresh.

Newly added to the Navigator is Lincoln ActiveGlide, a semi-autonomous system similar to Ford BlueCruise. Front and rear styling on the interior is completely updated, and a 13.2-inch center touchscreen is now included. Now available are Central Park and Invitation themes for the Black Label, not to mention second-row massage chairs. You read that correctly. Sit in the second row of the Lincoln Navigator and get a massage during an entire road trip. The perfect vehicle for a long family trip.

The entire Lincoln SUV lineup has been reworked for the 2022 model year. With new colors and features, Lincoln attempts to pull more attention away from the competition in the 2022 model year. According to GoodCarBadCar, Lincoln’s sales were down 5.98% from 2019 in 2020, and it hopes to not let that happen again. We predict the Navigator will do well in 2022. With the demand for a large SUV and the new features, it looks like a perfectly timed updated luxury model.
