Surprise, the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is an affordable SUV. It starts with an MSRP of $25,195. The $1,345 destination fee takes the price up to $26,540.

The top-spec Crosstrek Wilderness trim takes the price up to $33,540 with the destination fee included. There are five different trim levels within this price range to consider.

All-wheel drive is standard across the entire lineup, so that provides instant savings. However, the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque might be underpowered.

For a more engaging experience, we recommend upgrading to the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 182 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque.

Standard Crosstrek features include:

  • 17-inch dark grey alloy wheels
  • Steering-responsive LED lights
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Cloth upholstery
  • A 7.0-inch infotainment system
  • Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
  • Satellite radio
  • A four-speaker audio system
  • Rear seat reminder
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane departure mitigation
  • Lane-keeping assist

Upgrading to higher trim levels provides access to:

  • Raised roof rails
  • Keyless entry/start
  • An 11.6-inch infotainment screen
  • A wireless charging pad
  • Leather upholstery
  • Heated seats/mirrors/steering wheel
  • A sunroof
  • Extra USB ports

2. The Crosstrek is reliable

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek has a predicted reliability rating of 83 out of 100 from J.D.Power, placing it in the above-average category.

Any score between 70 and 80 is average, anything between 81 to 90 is above average, and scores between 91 and 100 are best.

The average Crosstrek model is expected to last between 200,000 to 250,000 miles. A few models have made it over 350,000 miles.

You could get between 13 to 17 years of service on the road if you drive about 15,000 miles per year. But longevity is related to proper care and regular maintenance.

It costs about $452 to maintain a Crosstrek yearly. This is great compared to the average annual cost of $521 for other subcompact SUVs and $652 for larger models.
