The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is a brand new product. So new that many people have not seen them in person yet. It is an off-road prepared street-legal pickup truck with over 700 hp. As such, it was not going to be long before people that purchased the truck start to do things with them that would question the driver’s sanity. A YouTuber with the channel StreetSpeed717 is the perfect example. He determined to make his Ram 1500 TRX fly.

Unafraid of going full-Duke-boys

The Dukes of Hazzard was a television show from decades ago that was known to have a car flying through the air in one of the weekly. The Duke boys were almost always the ones in the car when it went airborne. It is a television show many people remember to this day. It seems that the YouTube host of the channel called StreetSpeed717 likes doing his own impression of the Duke boys.

The host, we will call him Mike, recently purchased a Ford Raptor. To test that truck’s extreme off-road capability, he decided to go full-Duke-boys and jump it across a small creek. You can see that story here. 

Mike is a bit of a truck lover, however. So, he recently added the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX to his fleet of pickups. Undaunted from his experience jumping in the Ford last November, he decided it would be great to jump the same creek again in the new Ram. Keep in mind that he only received the truck a few days prior. In fact, the pickup truck was the first dealer-delivered TRX in the nation. Nonetheless, jumping the creek in his new truck is something that he has not been able to get out of his mind. 

Launching the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX

In the video posted below, Mike takes the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX to the old launching pad. While there, he admits he is nervous and that the more he thought about the jump, the more hesitant he was getting about the truck. So, before his mind got away from him, he took the truck back, buckled up, and began his run. Surprising him, however, was the muddy ground that prevented good grip. So, he cut his run short before reaching the ramp.

Then there was the second run. Mike lined up the Ram further back to start his run. This would allow him more territory to gain grip and speed. Then he headed for the ramp. This time he launched the pickup airborne. We won’t spoil how the landing went.

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX

The TRX package of the Ram 1500 is a limited run package. It upgrades the pickup truck with impressive off-road suspension enhancements. But, the most defining thing about the truck is its engine. Under the hood, there is a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8. That engine is also known as the Hellcat engine, a name the drops jaws, and motivates cars to carve pavement. In this truck, however, the engine is meant to do some canyon and dune carving. According to the manufacturer’s website, the new Ram 1500 TRX starts at $70,095.
