There are seven 2023 Toyota 4Runner trims to consider. Each model comes with the 4.0-liter V6 engine with 270 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque and a five-speed automatic transmission. Five-passenger seating is standard, but some models seat up to seven people. 

If you want to save as much as possible, then the entry-level 4Runner SR5 trim is a good place to start. The best deal for off-roading is the TRD Off-Road trim. 

The SR5 at $38,805 and comes with 17-inch wheels, roof rails, LED headlights, keyless ignition, a rear power window, skid plates, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, 120-volt outlet, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an 8-inch infotainment screen. 

Moving up to the TRD Sport for $41,665 adds a sportier look with 20-inch alloy wheels, a color-keyed TRD hood scoop, and color-keyed exterior accents. 

You also get an X-REAS sport suspension, heated front seats, simulated leather upholstery, TRD sport mats, and a TRD shift knob. 

The SR5 Premium comes in at $41,865 and builds upon the base model with simulated leather upholstery, an optional sunroof, heated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. It’s a good deal if you want a little extra comfort. 

What are the luxurious 4Runner models?

If you wanna go retro, then check out the Toyota 4Runner 40th Anniversary trim. It begins at $46,370 with bonze wheels and classic yellow, orange, and red body graphics. It’s based on the SR5 Premium trim and has standard all-wheel drive. 

The 40th Anniversary model also adds a unique grille, bronze interior accents stitching, special badging, floor mats, and a sunroof. 

The Toyota 4Runner Limited is the most luxurious trim, starting at $48,040. It provides extra comfort and convenience with 20-inch alloy wheels, perforated leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, heated seats, and ventilated seats. 

Plus, the built-in navigation system, parking sensors, 360-degree camera display, and premium JBL sound system are excellent features. 

What are the off-roading 4Runner models?

The 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road trim is a bit more adventurous. It brings the price to $42,650 is based on the SR5 with more terrain modes for off-roading like Rock, Rock/Dirt, Loose Rock, and Mud/Sand. 

It comes with crawl control and lifts the ground clearance to 9.6-inches. It has a locking rear differential and extra skid plates to protect the transfer case. 

The TRD Off-Road Premium costs $45,320 and adds a little luxury to the Off-Road trim. It features SofTex upholstery, side-mirror integrated turn signals, red TRD badges, and built-in navigation. 

According to AutoTrader, the Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro is the most capable trim. It brings the price up to $53,720 and rides on 17-inch matte black alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. Aluminum TRD skid plates provide extra protection. It also as a TRD roof rack and a unique grille. 

Suspension upgrades include Fox high-performance shocks with rear remote reservoirs and TRD-tuned off-road springs. It has built-in navigation, a 15-speaker JBL premium audio system, a power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a surround-view monitor too. 

The entry-level SR5 trim is well-equipped and is available with all-wheel drive. It should meet the needs of most drivers. Also, the TRD Off-Road trim adds extra capability without breaking the bank.
