The Kia Soul serves as a funky-styled alternative in the relatively sober subcompact SUV market, particularly following a full refresh of the model for the 2023 model year. For 2024, the Soul features a few additional updates, the most prominent of which is the new EX Designer Package.

So, what all is included in this available package, and what other optional extras are available?

The 2024 Kia Soul offers tailoring with options and accessories

The 2024 Kia Soul remains among the most affordable subcompact SUVs. Four trims are available—LX, S, EX and GT-Line—with MSRPs ranging from $19,990 to $23,590, excluding destination fees. (per Kia’s website)

The Soul’s long list of standard features across its range present strong value, but buyers can pay a bit more through available optional packages and accessories.

The base Soul LX can be had with the LX Technology Package ($500) which adds blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance assist, lane-change assist and 16-inch alloy wheels replacing the steel units.

The GT-Line is available with the no-cost-added Designer Package. This includes a two-tone exterior paint with Surf Blue body panels and a black roof and a white/black interior motif for those willing to give up their sunroof (it is deleted with this package).

The GT-Line Technology Package ($2,400) includes a host of upgrades for the midrange model. They include heated front seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, full LED exterior lighting, navigation-based smart cruise control and a dual-level cargo board/cover.

Additional amenities of the package include junction turning detection for the automatic emergency braking system, intelligent cruise control, and a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with two-way lumbar support.

A host of accessories, like a “lifestyle” hitch, roof cross bars, illuminated door scuff plates and puddle lamps are offered for all models.

The EX Designer Package adds some visual flair to the Soul

The Soul has always been styled a bit differently from its contemporaries, and the EX Designer Package now available on 2024 models continues the model’s focus on appearance.

Available for $500 on the range-topping EX model, the new EX Designer Package updates the exterior look of the Soul with unique 18-inch sport alloy wheels featuring a star-like design.

Inside, the seats are upgraded to a mix of synthetic leather and cloth with the upholstery and door trim sporting an exclusive Umber color, a slightly yellowish-brown hue.

Other updates to the 2024 Kia Soul

The Soul’s thorough refresh for the 2023 model year gave the Soul a new grille and headlight design, reworked bumpers and new wheel designs. The optional turbocharged engine delivering 201 horsepower was also dropped, so all Soul models are now powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder developing 147 horsepower.

With its recent overhaul the 2024 model has received limited updates. In fact, the only notable changes to the 2024 Soul are the availability of the EX Designer Package and its smart key now goes into a “sleep mode” after 40 seconds after the vehicle is locked — a deterrent for prospective thieves to duplicate the fob’s frequency.
