iSeeCars decided to find the best-used vehicles for the money by analyzing over 1.1 million used vehicles sold between the ages of five to 10 years old. 

Then it cross-referenced this information with their study based on the longest-lasting vehicles by viewing the odometer readings on over 312 vehicles. This way, they can determine how much value each used vehicle provides and how much life they have left. 

The average five-year-old CR-V model costs about $1,588 per 10,000 miles. Plus, it has about 160,207 miles or 70.8% of its lifespan left.

It came in seventh place on the list of the top 20 most valuable used vehicles. The Toyota RAV4 didn’t make it on the list. 

On the list of 10-year-old used vehicles, the CR-V landed in second place with a price of about $1,417 per 10,000 miles. It also has about 110,976 miles or 49.0% of its lifespan left. 

The average 10-year-old RAV4 model costs about $1,927 per 10,000 miles and has roughly 86,624 miles or 43.1% of its lifespan left. It came in 18th place on the list. 

So, getting a used CR-V model could be the more affordable option over time and it could last longer than an average used RAV4 SUV. 

This information tracks according to the latest reliability rankings. The 2023 CR-V has a reliability ranking of 80 out of 100 from J.D.Power and the 2023 RAV4 earned a 76. 

Scores between 70 and 80 are average while scores between 81 and 90 are above average. So, while both SUVs are average, the CR-V is still slightly ahead.
