There aren’t really any cheap choices in this vehicle class. Large SUV prices tend to be high, but the most expensive SUV out of the top six was also named the best.

U.S. News and World Report places the the Ford SUV above the GMC Yukon, the Toyota Sequoia, the Nissan Armada, and Chevrolet SUVs the Suburban and the Tahoe. U.S. News says it has “the entire package.”

U.S. News rated the 2020 Expedition after compiling ratings and reviews from over a dozen sources in order to score the Ford SUV. It impressed on all fronts. From available family friendly-features to user-friendly infotainment and a bushel of standard safety, the 2020 Ford Expedition configuration climbed to the top of the list.

Of the six on the list of U.S. News’ top large SUVs, the Ford Expedition price tops out higher than the rest. Though it’s worth the money for the standard model, the added Ford Expedition features increase the appeal of the vehicle so much we doubt that many leave the lot without at least a few upgrades.

The 2020 Ford Expedition XLT starts at $52,810 –– the highest starting price out of all six best SUVs. It comes with enough to make a buyer happy, but additional packages that add features like rear entertainment, synthetic leather interior, keyless entry, and a heated steering wheel are tempting.

The Ford Expedition Limited starts at $63,345. Ford introduced the King Ranch edition for this generation with the release go the 2020 model year. The King Ranch Ford Expedition starts at $72, 395 with the Platinum trim starting just below $74,000.

Each trim level brings a lot to the table, and according to U.S. News you get plenty for the dollar. The Ford Expedition Platinum Max with increased cargo area, however, will run over $80,000. But it’s extremely refined and roomy with a massive amount of additional cargo space.

The Ford SUV is the best of 2020

The Ford Expedition 2020 model year has risen to the top of its class with unparalleled refinement and versatility. Anything better than the Ford Expedition will take you into the luxury zone and the prices can really begin to climb there.

The Ford Expedition max towing capacity is the best in its class at 9,300 pounds. For $3,000 you can upgrade to AWD in order to equip the Ford Expedition with more potential for off-road type adventure.

The reliability of the 2020 Ford Expedition is rated better than average by J.D. Powers. Though you may pay more for the large Ford SUV than the other model of the top six list, the 2020 Ford Expedition has great ratings for quality, reliability, and resale value.

While there have been a couple recalls on this SUV, it’s hard to find anything that people complain about. Though it’s on the expensive side, it loves you back. The Ford Expedition continues to please after it rolls away from the dealer and becomes a part of the family.
