People who decide to work in the truck driving field receive extensive training before getting behind the wheel for their long journeys. However, trucking news shows that accidents aren’t out of the realm of possibility for anyone. Sadly, a semi-truck recently crashed in Pennsylvania and caused damage in multiple ways, including shutting down a road and some residents being without power for an extended period of time. 

Truck driving is a noble profession, but it can also be dangerous

Truck driving can lead to people seeing parts of the country they may not have otherwise. Still, trucking news also shows that there are significant risks. According to WGAL, a semi-truck crashed into a billboard on April 4th in Lancaster County. This happened at around 12:45 a.m., and as mentioned, it caused quite a bit of damage that the residents had to endure. 

Not only did this truck driving accident damage the billboard, but it also caused a power outage for about 30 people. It’s unclear how long they were without power, but it has since been restored. As mentioned, this accident also shut down a road. Drivers couldn’t use Lincoln Highway/Route 30 for about 12 hours after the crash happened as various crews worked to make repairs and clean the debris. Luckily, things are back to normal for the people of Lancaster County, PA. 

Trucking accidents are rare, but most people are keenly aware that they can happen. Still, these truck driving accidents are often much more destructive than those involving smaller vehicles. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. The report did not include the driver’s condition.
