Several people are hospitalized after a semi-truck crashed into 5 cars in Ohio County, W.Va
Everyone knows that truck driving accidents can have catastrophic consequences for everyone on the road. This happened recently in West Virginia when a driver crashed into multiple vehicles. Now, several are in the hospital following the car wrecks, and more information is emerging about what went wrong. Luckily, there were no life-threatening injuries on the scene of the crash involving the semi-truck.
This truck driving accident caused a ton of damage, but it was caused by something drivers do all the time
According to WTRF, the truck driving accident happened on the evening of May 9th in Ohio County, West Virginia. Initially, information was scarce, and reports only said there was a multi-vehicle crash on I-70 Eastbound at Mile Marker 13. Now, more intel has come to light, and we know the crash started when a semi-truck driver had the sun in his eyes and pulled down the visor.
Unfortunately, the driver was going up a hill at the time and saw stopped traffic. Naturally, he hit the brakes and, like in many truck driving accidents, he then swerved right in order to avoid hitting people. The problem is that the driver still hit a vehicle. From there, the truck driver swerved left, hitting four passenger vehicles in the process.
The trucking incident in West Virginia damaged five vehicles, leading to six people being taken to area hospitals. As mentioned, none of the injuries are said to have been life-threatening. It’s also important to note that the driver was pulling a trailer with a roll-off dumpster. This crash impacted all interstate lanes in the area.
