There are several reasons a driver could be pulled over for a police traffic stop. It could be due to a road violation, or the encounter could be a simple routine stop. Still, the last thing anyone should do is evade the police and then lead them on a high-speed chase. This happened recently in North Carolina, and now the driver has a massive bond after causing multiple car wrecks.

Not only did the man evade a traffic stop, but he also caused absolute mayhem

According to WECT, police officers noticed a vehicle with a fake license plate on March 15th at around 12:49 a.m. This led them to attempt a traffic stop on the car, as driving with a fictitious plate is illegal. At first, the man behind the wheel, Joshua Taylor, 27, stopped for the officers. Upon approaching the vehicle, they noticed a gun tucked under his leg, which escalated things.

The 27-year-old man then drove away from the traffic stop despite initially complying. Naturally, this led to a high-speed chase as the officers tried to catch up to Joshua. However, someone else flagged down the officer and alerted them of a car wreck that had taken place. Once responders arrived at the scene of the crash, they learned that it was actually Joshua who had started it. He had crashed into three parked vehicles while trying to get away from the police.

They arrested the man after the traffic stop and subsequent car wrecks with parked vehicles. Now, he’s facing multiple charges for his crimes. They include the following:

  • Possessing a stolen gun
  • Hit and run
  • Having a fictitious tag
  • Resist/delay/obstruct

Joshua is now behind bars with a $20k bond.
