The Toyota Sequoia is significantly longer than the Toyota Land Cruiser and slightly wider. The Sequoia is 208 inches long, 80 inches wide, and 74 inches tall. The Land Cruiser is 195 inches long, 78 inches wide, and 74 inches tall.

The Toyota Land Cruiser has been discontinued. The last model year was the 2021 Land Cruiser. Toyota may have retired one of its large SUVs, but the Sequoia still has plenty to offer to a new generation of fans.

How much will the 2023 Toyota Sequoia cost?

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia starts at $58,300. It tops out at a whopping $76,000 with the TRD Pro model. The Sequoia full-size SUV is best suited for off-roading enthusiasts that want to take large groups of friends or family members off the beaten path.

Toyota has attempted to make the Sequoia more practical as a daily driver by drastically improving its fuel economy. The redesigned Sequoia is now a standard hybrid SUV. It gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. The previous model year got a mere 13 miles per gallon in the city and 17 miles per gallon on the highway (yikes).

Toyota Motor Corporation has drastically improved the fuel efficiency of the Toyota Tundra nameplate and now the Toyota Sequoia nameplate. Car and Driver recommends the Limited trim because of better tech and creature comforts, like a larger infotainment system and heated seats.

The Sequoia still isn’t a segment leader by any means, but its redesign certainly puts it back in the running. Like its cousin, the Toyota Tundra, the Sequoia has learned some new tricks, and it’s ready to compete.

Will the 2023 Sequoia have a V8?

The only powertrain option available for the 2023 Toyota Sequoia is the iFORCE MAX hybrid powertrain system. The iFORCE MAX system uses a 3.4-liter V6 engine and an electric motor to make 437 horsepower and a whopping 583 lb-ft of torque. Toyota is done with the V8, but thanks to powerful hybrid powertrain systems, it may not be missed.
