The best 2024 Subaru Solterra features come from what I discovered during my week with the pint-sized electric vehicle. There were a few Solterra issues with the automatic headlights and wireless phone charging pad, but those problems didn’t ruin my experience.
1. The Solterra is athletic
The Subaru Solterra has 215 hp and 249 lb-ft of torque on tap for an engaging experience that’s complete with paddle shifters. The acceleration is instant and smooth with the ability to travel from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.0 seconds.
Using Performance mode hastens the response times and stiffens the brakes for an optimal performance. Normal mode is a bit more relaxed, and the Eco mode is the most relaxed with the heaviest braking response.
Going around town for errands is fun with plenty of time for merging into traffic and passing others.
2. The Solterra is comfortable
On the pavement, the Solterra provides a smooth performance even when it faces sections of beat-up asphalt with potholes. Larger impacts are quickly settled for a relaxing ride.
Things get a little bumpy on gravel and dirt roads, but the cabin doesn’t shake enough to be distracting or uncomfortable.
The front seats are well-padded for hours of comfort and support. The adjustment controls provide solid seating positions for people of all shapes and sizes.
Plus, the rear seats are comfortable with the same amount of padding. There’s a surprising amount of legroom in the rear and the seatback sits at a relaxed angle. The Solterra is well-suited for up to four adults.
3. The Solterra has great tech
One of the top 2024 Subaru Solterra features includes the tech. The available 12.3-inch touchscreen is vibrant and intuitive. It’s extremely easy to connect your phones without a cord. Wireless Apple CarPlay holds a solid connection.
The system works quickly and it’s easy to adjust the vehicle settings in just a few clicks. However, some people may want more physical controls and dials instead of relying on the touchscreen and toggle switches.
The Solterra has the best 360-degree camera display I’ve ever seen. It uses a transparent Solterra graphic that makes it easy to see potential obstacles. The resolution is excellent.
Also, the premium 11-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system delivers high-quality sound and the digital gauge cluster provides all the crucial driver information you need, such as your range, driving mode, and regenerative braking.
4. The Solterra is convenient
The 2024 Subaru Solterra has an 18.25 turning radius and it’s incredibly easy to maneuver in tight areas. The turning radius and 360-degree camera make it fast and simple to navigate tight areas in the woods and the city.
You can quickly swoop into any parking space with plenty of space to make adjustments. It’s wild how the Solterra looks small on the outside compared to how much space it provides on the inside.
You can access 29.0 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats with up to 64.0 cubes overall. The rear seats fold flat to provide more space.
So while the Solterra has a few kinks to work out, it has tons of potential. It’s smart, comfortable, spacious, and fun.
