This 2021 Ford F-150 Sedan Is the Weirdest Mashup That Actually Works

It is no secret that the popularity of sedans is quickly dwindling in the U.S. market. As a result, it may take a bit of radical thinking to rekindle the love U.S. buyers previously had for these four-doored machines. Perhaps one way would be to mashup a sedan body style with the best-selling truck in the U.S., the 2021 Ford F-150. That is exactly what TheSketchMonkey attempted on YouTube reported by CarBuzz, and the results aren’t half bad.

What truck spawned this unusual creation?

Before diving straight into this unusual matchup, TheSketchMonkey went online to pick the ideal 2021 Ford F-150 trim level. For starters, the chosen truck had to be a SuperCrew, giving plenty of space for potential rear passengers. Additionally, having larger doors in the rear helps balance out the size of the two front doors. As a result, the chosen truck is an XLT trim level, which starts at $40,310.

Since this 2021 Ford F-150 build doesn’t have a budget, TheSketchMonkey opted for a truck featuring the sport package. For $1,995, you get a host of visual upgrades. However, TheSketchMonkey opted for the package because it also deletes all of the chrome accents found on the truck. Aside from toning down the look, it will give this new mashup a sleek appearance. Since the sport package requires bumping up to the more expensive 2.7-liter turbocharged engine, the truck’s price creeps up to $46,490.

To finish up the selection process, TheSketchMonkey gave his 2021 Ford F-150 the larger 20-inch wheel package for $1,395. Additionally, this truck was selected with the optional LED headlights. All in all, this truck comes out to $49,270. From there, it went into photoshop to begin the conversion.

How do you convert a truck into a sedan?

To make this 2021 Ford F-150 Sedan happen, TheSketchMonkey made a few key structural upgrades. The first involved lowering the truck significantly. As you might expect, an F-150 carries a significantly higher ride height than an equivalent sedan. Next up, TheSketchMonkey made a new rear window by utilizing the window’s shape found on the rear door. This gives the overall appearance of a sedan since the roof now cleanly swoops down toward the end of this vehicle.

From there, the next step was to take this 2021 Ford F-150’s front end and slim it down. In Photoshop, TheSketchMonkey essentially squished the front grille, making it significantly shorter. Additionally, TheSketchMonkey went throughout the front end, creating smoother lines throughout. TheSketchMonkey added a new set of side-skirts along the sides, which give this render a nice low stance.

The next major steps in this 2021 Ford F-150 build involved blending all of the changes together until they look sort of like a cohesive design.

The finished product doesn’t look half bad

Given the overall proportions of the 2021 Ford F-150, the chances of this render working properly were relatively slim. Regardless, TheSketchMonkey managed to tie everything together to create a design that doesn’t look half bad. Upon first glance, the doors’ shape and the swooping roofline looks sort of like an old Chrysler 300.

The only major flaw with the design is how short the windows are relative to the actual doors’ size. Regardless, this 2021 Ford F-150 mashup gives us a unique look at what will likely never be.
